The Body Shop has been around for years and one of my earliest memories of visiting Belfast when I was younger was the smell of the products in here. I can however fault the place — mainly due to the cost of many of the natural items on offer. My other half had a little tub of cocoa butter laced with mango and other tropical fruits. It truly smelt amazing and was a great little tub of moisturising cream. I did however find out when I called into the shop that such a little tub was £15. I’d always imagined Body Shop being a cheap little place to pick up that cheap little gift but apparently I was wrong. Everything smells great and according to much of the literature is natural. Give it a whirl.

Ok, so we all know what the Body Shop is. We all know that it provides lovely smellies at decent prices, with an ethical twist. The only problem with the Body Shop in Belfast is that it’s far too small! It is in the tiny little site on Donegall Place — blink and you’d miss it. As far as the shop goes, I’ve never had anything but great service in there. The staff aren’t over powering, immediately asking you if you need any help before your eyes have even adjusted to the lights! Instead, they give you space to shop and look for signs that you may need assistance, which is the mark of great customer service if you ask me.

The Body Shop is a real girly heaven, seriously get most girls a present from here and they will adore it! They do a great range of soaps, scrubs, perfumes and their make-up range is pretty decent too. I’ve never bought any but the cheek tint is cool as is the bronzer– what I like about them is they all look really natural. My fave product in The Body Shop is their Born Lippy lip balm, at £3 they’re a steal and look way better than crapy lip glosses and are way more healthy for your lips too. I recommend the strawberry and watermelon too. They also smell so good you could eat them! Another thing about The Body Shop is the staff are always über friendly and polite which is really nice. They’re probably trained to be like that but it’s nice to encounter cheery friendly shop assistants.

Ahh the Body Shop, for all your smelly needs! These types of shops are dreams for people like me who need to find a gift for someone special but have no real idea what to get and don’t really have time to look(yes, I’m that mean!). The body shop has some fantastic gift sets, that they will wrap for you and I do make use of these easy gifts quite a lot. They shop proclaims it only uses natural products and that everything in store is organic. I don’t know why this should matter but it really does to the people at body shop.

Its all so ethical i feel cleaner just walking through the door of the Body Shop. To be honest I really like the Body Shop but it is a little too expensive for my liking. I know this sounds a bit wrong coming from a macho man like me but I used to buy moisturiser from the Body Shop because i am a sensitive flower deep down. But then i noticed it went up in price so then abandoned the place. I’m taking like £6 for a wee tube of the stuff. do sometimes regret this decision as it was probably the best type for my skin but if they would be willing to meet me in the middle and call it £4 for the tube they would have a deal. They are all about fair trade so maybe they could cut me a deal! Body Shop I eagerly await your response?

Interesting fact of the day — this tiny little shop is located in over 60 countries! FACT! And if my girlfriend is anything to go by, all women go a little bit mental about this shop. This shop sells a whole bunch of stuff from make-up and moisturisers to perfume and vitamins, all seemingly good for you and making you look ten years younger but without getting lumps drilled out of your face. The shop in the city centre does have a strong smell and to a man, it is over-powering and a bit rough. To women however it seems quite pleasant and relaxing, so every time we go into the city my girlfriend always has to pop in for a nosey. The shop prides itself on being«organic», in touch with nature and only using natural products and saving trees or children or penguins or something. Personally I don’t really care what my shampoo is made with or whether the shower gel I used came from a factory or a plant but I appreciate what this shop is doing, in that it is trying give shoppers confidence in what it is doing and to be honest, it is good at what it does. Overall if you find yourself in town to get beer before a stag do, chances are you will probably have to avoid this place. Though women to like it so if you have an anniversary coming up and you need to get a special lady a special gift, give this place the once over.
