Oh my word!!! This place is amazing! Today is my last day in PR and I am crying that we just discovered this place! I seriously would have eaten here everyday!!! Good news is, I have a later flight so I will be back for lunch! Seriously, that was a culinary explosion of goodness. First of all, the place is beautiful. Clean, airy, lofty and stylish. Awesome outdoor area with a nice view of the rainforest. Nice music. I told our server she is beautiful! Loved her smile and sweet and helpful demeanor. I ordered the breakfast burrito served with home potatoes. So darn good! She brought out this avocado hot sauce that was the perfect complement! I can do hot, but I could see how it might be too hot for a novice. My husband had the pancakes, and a side of bacon and home fries. The pancakes were beautifully plated and light and fluffy. We purchased some of the tamarindo hot sauce(they were out of the avocado) but I taste tested and it was good too. Can’t wait to take it back home. I won’t forget this meal and will definitely return. Do yourself a favor and discover this place early on in your trip!!! Update: I did go back for lunch I had the Monterey chicken sandwich and hubs had that fajita sandwich. Mine was good, his was out of this world. His bread was flakier. Genesis, our server, continued to be a breath of fresh air!

This place has a great thing going on here. It’s 5 stars all the way. The food is fresh and beautifully presented. The staff is extremely friendly and welcoming. The décor is fun and very clean. It actually looks like a cute breakfast spot you would find in any foodie town in the states, it definitely stands out from all the other places in the area. One of the servers brought over a latte by mistake and it looked so good with the leaf design I decided to order one for myself and it was amazing. If you’re in this area you must stop here for breakfast or lunch. I can’t wait to go back.

What a find! We enjoyed Lluvia so much the first time we had breakfast, that we arranged our plans to return a few days later. We enjoyed the yogurt with fresh fruit, guava pancakes, and latte. They packed us fresh fruit, homemade granola bars and chocolate chip cookies for our day at El Yunque. Our server, Genesis is the absolute BEST! She was friendly and accommodating for whatever we needed. She is a doll and spent time chatting with us about travels and recommendations for dinner in Old San Juan. Lorraine, the owner was also very friendly and helpful. We also purchased two handmade little purses. I hope to return someday. Highly recommended. You won’t be disappointed.

My husband and I love this classy place! Great coffee, fresh juices and the food is wonderful. I had the French toast with a starfruit and berry garnish. He had farm fresh eggs and bacon. The atmosphere is very trendy. The service is very friendly. It’s near the rainforest.

We made it a point to eat here before going to explore El Yunque. The food was better than anything we have had in San Juan! The service was also very good and the restaurant is impeccably clean. I had a mimosa with their fresh watermelon juice instead of orange juice-yummyness. My husband had the breakfast burrito with Lorraine’s special hot sauce and I had the Turkey pesto sandwich with their homemade pesto. It all was very delicious. I could only eat half of my sandwich so I took the other half to go and kept it in a cooler we had in the car for water. It was a nice snack I got to enjoy after lots of hiking through the rainforest

This place is a modern and family friendly café! We had guava pancake, veggie pizza and frittata. The guava pancake is a must try! We love it so much! Almost wanna order a second one. Veggie pizza has very fresh ingredients(my 4 yrs old loves it). The frittata is huge(good for 4 ppl)! Overall experience is great! The owner is a very nice guy from Brooklyn NY. He even gave us a some recommendations for dinner!

A little hard to get to but so worth it! From the modern décor to amazing Puerto Rican coffee this was a amazing brunch. I ordered the special of the day which was a waffle sandwich and it was amazing! For dessert I also ordered a papaya smoothie with chia seeds and it was delicious. Hubby ordered the fajitas sandwich and it great too! Plus he got a strawberry lemonade and it was truly refreshing.

!!! Dined here for brunch once. One word. HEAVEN. My friends and I loved this place so much we came here 3 days in a row. I was absolutely hooked on their coffee and watermelon juice(virgin and alcoholic). The staff here is absolutely amazing and so beautiful(inside and out). Note: order their homemade hot sauce with papaya! Pairs amazingly well with all their breakfast items.

Very good! Stopped here on the way to the airport. Very very clean including the bathroom. Cleanest establishment we visited. Staff is very nice. We got the breakfast burrito and the grilled cheese blt. Definitely ask for the house salsa-it made the meal. Loss of one star cause the coffee took forever. Long line ahead of us for coffee I guess…

Came to this joint because of the amount of Unilocal reviews and we weren’t happy with our original choice down the street. We were immediately ecstatic with the fresh juices, authentic coffee, friendly staff, and delicious menu. We ordered watermelon and orange juice, cortadito, and breakfast burritos. Genesis even brought us out their spicy sauce with papaya. We couldn’t be happier with our breakfast selection!!!

AWESOME! This review is going to be super long because this place was so fantastic! My husband and I found this little place on Unilocal when looking for a nearby lunch spot(we were staying at the Wyndham). Lluvia, meaning ‘rain’, is located right outside the rainforest in the art district. The street it’s located on is currently under construction so you will need to park on a nearby road or the designated parking lots. Don’t let the construction avoid your chances of going here. Trust me. It’s worth it. The restaurant is family owned, which we loved. We got to meet the owner and found out he was originally from Brooklyn, NY and has lived in PR for 30 years now. Lluvia has been open for 3 years and business is steady. Also everything here is homemade! And fresh! Double score. Did I mention they even make homemade juices?! We didn’t try any of them, but they all sounded amazing. Btw they are only open Wednesday-Sunday from 7 – 3. When we came for lunch we got the spicy chicken sandwich(on homemade bread of course). The spicy slaw on the sandwich was awesome, but the real winner was the chicken pesto burrito we ordered. Oh my! The chicken was super tender and the homemade chips were delicious. We both cleared our plates. As we were walking out we took a look at the dessert fridge. We were instantly sold on the key lime pie. We also learned the owner’s wife makes all of the desserts and pastries. The key lime pie was to die for! It almost tasted like a mouse key lime pie. I don’t even know how to explain it, but this is a MUST try!!! It was hands down the best key lime pie I’ve ever had! Since we had an awesome experience we came back for breakfast the next day and got guava pancakes(fantastic) and the breakfast burrito with home fries. Both were equally good, but the ultimate winner for me was the homemade hot sauce!!! Order that breakfast burrito with a side of hot sauce and you will be so happy! The potatoes also had a light spicy sauce on them, which complimented the meal very well. We also ordered a cuppacino and a mocha latte– again which were delightful! As we left at 8am we decided to go big and order another slice of the key lime pie! I’m telling you it’s amazing! Everything about Lluvia was perfect. It may not be 100% authentic Puerto Rican by any means, but it was one of my favorite spots on vacation we went to. I really hope their business continues to succeed for them and I hope you give it a try!

Great décor, super clean, very kid friendly. Great for breakfast. Excellent food and service, close to the souvenir shops in Palmer. Always fast and convenient from the Wyndham! There is road construction right now on their street but they’re still open. Highly recommended!

I was a little bit thrown off by the super modern interior and spacey/new age music while I was perusing the brunch menu. Don’t get me wrong, I think it’s cool but it was just such a stark contrast when the street is in complete disarray due to construction ad the buildings are of various colors and you’re walking into a bright white room. Food was tasty! I ordered a pesto sandwich while my friends ordered sandwiches, waffles or an omelet. If you’re a fan of spicy foods, their hot sauce is decently spicy! Also, my friends approved of the coffee. A little pricey, but it’s great if you’re in the neighborhood before you head out to the rainforest.

Wonderful!!! As a woman I don’t mind shopping as I eat. The food is incredible!!! I created my own breakfast sandwich and there was no up charge which is a great plus! There are handmade local crafts for sale in the café that are reasonably priced. If you’re in Puerto Rico, it’s worth the drive to Luquillo.

/TL;DR An oddly modern café near El Yunque. So modern that it’s juxtaposition is nearly jarring. Decent food, coffee, and desserts if you are looking for a spot with western flair. /ATMOSPHERE Well, it was nicely air conditioned. WHEW. The strange little bit about this place is when you walk up, you gotta get buzzed in. When you go in, it’s basically ultra-modern seating, glass displays, white on white on white interior. Really nice place. /FOOD Had a breakfast burrito. It was quite bland to be honest. I was actually a little bit disappointed since I was expecting some kind of local flavor to it. Pretty boring. The coffee was pulled well. Strong and bold. /SERVICE The service is so friendly. That is the draw for me and why I’d go back. The ladies were very attentive, very helpful. In fact, the owner brought around little one-bite desserts. HOWTOREADMYREVIEWS: 1 Star — Does not approach edible. Enter at your own risk. 2 Stars — If I’m in the area, I’d pick something else. 3 Stars — I would stop by if I happen to be in the area. 4 Stars — I would pick this place out of other places nearby. 5 Stars — I would go out of my way to dine here.

What a great find! It’s about a ten minute drive from the Gran Melia, the place is beautifully decorated, and you most defiantly don’t feel like you’re in Puerto Rico. High ceilings, modern décor, outdoor seating. The menu is breakfast/lunch great variety of things, kind of like a diner in NY. they also have boars head! Which is hard to find in Puerto Rico. I ordered my usually breakfast eggs, bacon, toast. The eggs were nice & fluffy, bacon was excellent, home fries needed more flavor. My husband ordered a chicken sandwich, and enjoyed it very much. The coffee was excellent, customer service was superb! Owner is a really nice guy, and comes from Brooklyn. They only lost a star because of the price. Breakfast/lunch in Puerto Rico shouldn’t be more then I pay in Brooklyn.
