NOT tourist friendly. The omelette was good with onion, pepper and ham… it was really scrambled eggs, and the coffee was good. The bathroom door was very dirty and there was NO running water from the faucet. I’m giving it 2 stars because they were the only unfriendly people we have met on the island… acted like they hated tourists, and there were only 2 of us who were very polite to them.

So, while we were in Puerto Rico, we were always searching for a place to eat that we could grab a quick Puerto Rican breakfast. We were staying near by and Coco’s kept coming up on Unilocal. So we decided to stop by. It is a pretty popular place, at least at about 9am when we were stopping by. Parking was not difficult but I would not say there was an overabundance of it either. When you step in, it was like many other of the bakeries we had stepped into. Clean, plenty of seating, and a no frills counter with lots of pastries on display. I decided to get a ham, egg and cheese sandwich and my wife got the same. I also had a café con leche, cause, well it was Puerto Rico. The sandwich bread was ok. It had a bit of a crunch from the grill but the flavor was not as other places we had gone. The ham, cheese and egg were pretty good but I felt like I was hunting for a bit more flavor. Overall, I would rate it as ok. The coffee was strong and did taste pretty good, so I would give them credit for that. However, be aware that the serving, as many of the other breakfast spots, is pretty small. Enough for a pick me up but considering my usual coffee consumption, I was always hoping for more. Service was prompt and decent. Overall, I would come back but I did have other breakfasts in the area that I liked a bit better

I only give this place 2 *, the lady that cook, that make the sandwiches have the worst attitude in the world,. She have 0 customer service, and is sad caouse the food is not that bad. But just because of that me and my family never will stop there again, and I will tell all my friends to do the same.

The only reason to go to this place would be for a quick, ok, kinda of coffee. The service was poor at best. Thank goodness I spoke Spanish or else I am not sure what would have happened. The cooking, well let’s just say that I can make myself a better breakfast than that and I am no chef! Don’t bother coming there are other places on the route to enjoy!

Wow… Thought I was back in the US. The people seem pissed to have to wait on us. And I didn’t know turkey was hard to come by. When I asked to sub turkey for ham on my egg sandwich it was a $ 2.80 upgrade. All week we ate at the local bakeries an all were good. I would never stop here again.

Great place! Came in around 7:30pm on a Monday and thought the kitchen was closed, I asked and they said they were still making sandwiches. Great change from the usual Subway or Quiznos, and close enough(and cheap enough) from the Gran Melia to make it an awesome alternative.

/TL;DR The dirty Piccadilly’s of Puerto Rico — and honestly I am insulting Piccadilly’s by making such a derogatory comment. /ATMOSPHERE The only thing this place has going for it is that when you exit the Gran Melia resort, you have to drive by it. Typical breakfast café style with very few booths and no service to speak of. /FOOD I don’t think you can mess up a ham, cheese, and egg sandwich. It was alright. Coffee was weak and forgettable. Wanted to get some pastries but saw a line of ants crawling around in there so I passed. /SERVICE Prepare to feel rushed. If you don’t know what you’re going to order, prepare to feel like an idiot. If you can read and speak Spanish, you’ll be fine though. If you plan to pay by credit card, make sure you do not have one that’s chip enabled. HOWTOREADMYREVIEWS: 1 Star — Does not approach edible. Enter at your own risk. 2 Stars — If I’m in the area, I’d pick something else. 3 Stars — I would stop by if I happen to be in the area. 4 Stars — I would pick this place out of other places nearby. 5 Stars — I would go out of my way to dine here.

Unilocal, no no no no no no no no no no no no no no no no no. You can not give this place 4.5 stars. My friends and I had just gotten done with El Yunque and were jonesing for our next meal. I quickly Unilocaled something, and thought yes this place only has 7 reviews but maybe it won’t be Unilocal trickery. The sweet lady that runs this place, told us what was on the menu, which was behind the counter hot foods bar style. We had lasagna and rice and beans, and fried chicken and rice and beans. We had no idea that this wasn’t made to order, because we saw a menu on the left side of the restaurant but she walked us over to the right side where the food was. It was a solid, cheap meal, but not anything to go out of your way for. Perhaps for breakfast you’ll have better luck?! Also the pictures outside the restaurant did not look like what was being served, so thinking it could be old signage.

This place use to be good, before they became a tourist spot for everyone staying at the Melia, I would suggest to come here before spending $ 50 for breakfast at the hotel. But they are slacking off, especially when they’re busy.

Stopped here for a quick breakfast on our way to the rainforest. We shared some pastries and a breakfast tostada, everything was delicious(and super cheap). Just a heads up– the sign now says Coco Café(not coco sweet) and I recommend using the Unilocal map pinpoint instead of putting the address into google maps because that took us to the wrong spot.

this is a great spot! Only the locals know about this spot(well not now) but it’s pretty old school moms and pops. We ordered 2 coffees, a turkey sandwich and a bran muffin all under 8 dollars. Everything was hella good! from the coffee to the muffin. the turkey sandwich was hella good! the kind of homemade bread that was made with love and had that perfect crisp that still made the bread soft, they grill the turkey before it’s even in the sandwich. love this spot, it’s like visiting your favorite aunty and uncle who may not have the up to date furniture or don’t keep the shelves stocked with food but you know damn well they know how to make simple things like turkey sandwiches hella good! We were looking for a simple breakfast stop and this definitely fit. We ordered the bacon Swiss egg breakfast sandwich and ham egg and cheese sandwich. Both were good but the ham was the best. The donut we ordered for dessert looked like the stale grocery store donuts from the states, but definitely didn’t taste that way. Very delicious and good texture. We will hit this place again before we leave!

This is the best bakery in town! You must stop by here and have their pastries. My favorite was the apple cinnamon with cream cheese filling. I also had breakfast here and their café con leche is extremely rich. All in all I am definitely coming back. FIVESTARS.

This little bakery is so good that I had to create a profile for it on Unilocal myself. Great breakfast. Fresh made sandwiches, eggs, coffee and pastries at extremely reasonable prices. I had heard there was a pastry near our hotel(a good alternative to the hotel $ 25 breakfast!) but couldn’t find it. Luckily I found it on our way. Came here every day!
