I was in this place and i din, t recomend it. first i order water and taste like plastic hose then i order bottle water and was hot i ask for a glass of water and you vearly can see thru the glass. The owner recomend me a mofongo with pulpo, he said that is the best in town and it was the worth. It was very hard, bad food, dirty place, no a/c. And very expensive. After dinner My husband get sick. Bad service.

Super touristy — the place only had one table while Boardriders next door was packed. That Should have been the red flag that kept us away. I had the paella that the waitress highly, highly recommended and raved about. My friend got the appetizer calamari for her entrée bc she wasn’t that hungry. We had the Guava’s signature Seafood Chowder which was delicious. But that was the only good thing I can say about the place. The paella was so flavorless, and filled with chorizo and chicken and barely any seafood. The calamari was mediocre and the service was super slow. She went to check on a drink special for me and never came back to tell me anything about it so I didn’t ask for more info. We had to ask fifteen minutes in to being seated for some water. Paying took forever. Just one of the worst meals I’ve had in PR. If you’re staying in Luquillo — head to the kiosks where you’ll get some flavorful foods.

Lives up to its rave reviews. Everything we had was delicious. I loved the seafood paella and the skirt steak and the guava cheesecake. My wife loved the mojitos and the serviche.

My wife and I eat here on Our last night in Puerto Rico. We read good reviews and even saw a sign stating they were rated well on trip advisor. We approached the resteraunt and it appeared to be closed(it was dark inside and no one was in there) although they were open. We ordered cerviche and the coconut shrimp and ribs. The cerviche tasted like bad salty seafood(it was made of mahi mahi and shrimp which typically have a fresh taste), the shrimp was breaded but did not taste like coconut and coated with a spicy sauce, the ribs were over cooked and dry. We left eating less than half of our meal hoping we don’t get sick from it.

Spent two nights here the restaurant was very good. The room we stayed in # 7 was un real. The view was sick and the staff so helpful. It was pricey but the breakfast included is a very good breakfast. I have no complaints just wish it was cheaper but you get what you pay for and I recommend this place to stay at and also eat at. Have fun we did.

Had to eat here because pasta y pueblo was booked. Totally empty except for a few people getting drinks. Board riders next door was palaces. This is typical, place was basically empty every night we were there. Food was very expensive and mediocre. Service surprisingly slow given how empty the place was.

The first floor dining room is just OK. For some reason, they do not exploit the ocean views to the full extent. Looks like the second floor windows do open so that might be nice.(That section was closed when we visited on a Wednesday.) The food was a mixed bag. My skirt steak with papaya chimichurri was very tender and tasty. The mofongo that came with it was my favorite of the 4 that I had on this trip. My wife’s fish(dorado = mahi mahi) was not cooked right, but the coconut rice was good. The big disappointment was that we tried to order a piece of guava cheesecake, only to be told it was still hot after coming out of the oven. Seems like it should have been baked a day or two before and should not be something they run out of, being somewhat of a signature item. Oh, and the guava mojito was very weak. Overall, some success but more misses. Probably worth another try if a second floor table by the open window was available. Note that they do have a kids menu. The burgers were gigantic and could feed 2 smaller children.

This is across from the beach. Looks like a tavern/bar, but don, t let that keep you away. All the food served was truly yummy. The owner & his daughter were very welcoming & friendly. Their ribs & coconut shrimp were delicious. Carbonara pasta was amazingly tasty, not heavy & greasy. It was recommended by a local & we were happy we followed his advice. We would go there again!

The food was great but not the service. If it wasn’t for another waiter that helped us the experience would have been awful. Our waiter was always on the bar talking with the bartender while the other waiter was great with both her table and ours. I hope my tip went to her and not him. She was awesome!

I went on 9⁄16 and the food was great, but the service was terrible. The place was pretty empty and it was still a struggle to get the waitress’ attention for anything. Other than that, I highly recommend going, and hoping that particular woman isn’t your server.

This place was awesome. I went for the first time last week with out of town friends. The pressure to make sure they liked my dinning selection was on and I did not disappoint them. The food was great! I had the dorado with coconut rice and guava sauce… delicious. My friends had the skirt steak with root vegetables mash and the chorizo stuffed chicken and again the flavors, portion size and prices were adequate. A must try if you are looking for a good eat in the east side of the island.

This was a nice little find during our stop at Luquillo Beach. It’s a little dive-y on the inside, as you would expect a beach restaurant to be, but it was overall a very good experience. We started off with a bucket of four beers for $ 10 — any beer of your choosing. I ended up ordering the oriental salad with tuna and my husband ordered the paella. The tuna was cooked perfectly and I thought the salad had the perfect amount of dressing. My husband loved the paella and quickly cleared his plate. We also ordered mojitos at the recommendation of another Unilocaler. That was a mistake. I’m not sure if they have ever tasted a mojito before, but that was quite possibly the worst mojito I have ever had. It really had no flavor and the mint looked a little brown. Definitely go there and try the food, but skip the mojito!

Really good food, but at premium prices. The location is great(and incorrectly mapped by Unilocal — use the 16 Calle Veve Calzada, Luquillo, PR773 address instead and drive to the east end of the street, then turn left — you’ll see the restaurant on your left, on the corner of Calle Herminio Diaz Navarro — beachside). The interior is not that great, but OK. The servers were nice and helpful, so I hovered between three and four stars but decided for three because if I have to pay 100USD before tip for a meal for two adults and a 11 and 6 year old kids, I expect better food and décor than what they offer. Still, a good place to visit and enjoy good food while watching the beach and the waves.

My 3 friends and I were on vacation in Luquillo Beach this week. We chose Guava’s for our last night dinner and we were really glad we did. We ordered the plaintain«nachos» as an appetizer and they were gone in seconds. Everyone enjoyed their entrees very much. I ordered the special of the night which was a whole local fish fried and served with salad and tostones. It was amazing! When I return to PR, Guava’s will definitely be on my list of places to stop.

We were in PR for Thanksgiving week and were looking for a place to eat where it wasn’t the fried food you find everywhere in PR. We found This restaurant on Unilocal and decided to give it a whirl. It wasn’t very full when we got there and we really had no expectations. Boy were we surprised! And surprised in a good way. I ordered the oriental tuna salad and my bf ordered the seafood salad. Both dishes were just amazing. The tuna was grilled rare, definitely sushi grade tuna at that, over a bed of spinach and some delicious dressing. My bf’s dish was a seafood salad with, shrimp, conch and octopus which was so fresh… Just absolutely delicious. For desert we had some guava and cheese concoction that was out of this world. We will definitely be coming back one more time as I wanna try a few other dishes they had. Customer service was outstanding and they were super attentive to our needs.

Guava’s is another fantastic restaurant in Luquillo, PR right by the ocean. This is a perfect venue for a romantic evening between the music, ambiance of the restaurant, and the sounds of the waves. The guavacoladas were the best I have ever had. The jerk pork tenderloin appetizer was so delicious. The owner was so gracious that she allowed us to taste the seafood chowder because we couldn’t decide between the pork tenderloin and the chowder. The seafood chowder was the best comfort food I have had in my life. If I had not ordered my dinner, I would have ordered a bowl of the chowder. Now onto the main course, dinner was awesome! I had the jumbo shrimp scampi with angel hair pasta — OMG! the shrimp were so large and the garlic cream sauce was seasoned perfectly. My husband had the churrasco mofungo. It was the most tender piece of meat we have ever tasted. The mofungo itself was better than what I had at Pasion at the Gran Melia. They had a large party while we were there and were quite busy, but that didn’t stop the staff from providing the nicest and best service I have had in a while. The prices were also very reasonable and parking was easy.

The best drinks in the east coast. Try all the drinks, they are all mixed with guava. A great twist for their piña colada, their mojitos, their guavatinis… the food is a perfect blend of puertorrican cuisine and seafood. A great place to go with a lovely view of the Luquillo beach. They have Jazz nights, Band nights and a pretty good happy hour. Prices are fair for the food and drinks. The staff is very friendly and at your service. Enjoy!
