I can’t even begin to describe how wonderful this place is! It is difficult to find and Google maps gave us the wrong directions but we did keep looking and thank goodness we did! We had read the reviews and thought it sounded interesting but never imagined it would be beyond our expectations! The staff greeted us and shook our hands as they welcomed us in. Some people said this was a whack, however, I likened it to a back porch. It was much like the kiosks that we had been to so I didn’t find the appearance alarming. It has a unique look but it was kind of cool in a quirky way. I liked the vibe. They had about 8 tables total. There was not a wait for us but we went at 8:30 so it was nearing closing time. The immediately took our drink order and moments later brought us French bread w pesto cream sauce and shredded Parmesan cheese. Holy cow! It was amazing! Then brought us grilled zucchini slices with a creamy sauce that went on the catch of the day… another amazing sample. We couldn’t wait to order. We ordered the skirt steak with creamy pesto sauce on penne pasta and the chicken breast w Alfredo sauce w Penne pasta. Mamma Mia it was delicious! It was the best food we had in Puerto Rico! I wish I had found it earlier! The Guava cheesecake was so amazing! It melted in your mouth and was so creamy. The staff came around and chatted w us and checked on us… they were so friendly. Do not miss out on this place!!! Incredible!

Don’t let the exterior scare you away. This little shack serves the best meal in Puerto Rico! The catch of the day was grouper and it tasted like it just jumped out of the ocean. Coconut rice was the perfect complement. Sea scallops were out of this world with garlic and oil penne. Passion fruit cheesecake… unbelievable. Some of the best sangria we’ve had. A definite must dine when in the area.

This is the best food I’ve ever had in my entire life. I will think about this food forever. My boyfriend has not stopped talking about it, he said its food with soul. We loved it so much that we are here two nights in a row. Don’t be discouraged if you have to wait to get a table because it’s totally worth the wait. The mussel appetizer was the best thing I’ve ever put in my mouth. My boyfriend said the skirt steak was the best he has ever had and the Alfredo was the best he has ever had. The service was incredible. Our waiter was so helpful in explaining the menu and recommending things we might enjoy. Both nights the owner came to check on us and chat for a few minutes. It was raining when we left the second night and someone walked me to the car with an umbrella! I love love love this restaurant and can’t wait to go back!

This place is such a gem. The food was fabulous and the staff were the most sweetest people. They made sure that I was comfortable and had everything that I needed. Both nights I was here the food was good. If you’re in Liquillo you have to come here.

One of my favorite places that we’ve eaten at so far in PR. One of those«shacks» that you just know has to have really good food based on the amount of people eating and the amount of people waiting. The pasta is yummy. Simple but delicious menu. I got the mussels with pasta in white wine sauce– AMAZING. Seriously considered licking my plate clean. Others in my group got the steak with pasta, veggies with pasta, and tuna with pasta. The chef brought out a sampling of the pesto sauce and it was sooo good. You can tell these guys really care about what they’re doing here and are proud of their work, as they should be. Highly recommend.

Come early or be prepared to wait! The food here was pretty tasty. Entrée portions were decent but we could have used an appetizer to help fill us up. We had the lobster, tuna and shrimp and all were good, though the shrimp was slightly overcooked. The coconut rice was pretty good. The pesto pasta was a bit hit with the kids! Sangria was delicious.

Super happy this place opened in Luquillo. The menu is simple, adaptable to different food preferences and very delicious. The location is supreme real estate – on a corner that opens up to the ocean. Other Unilocalers have called it a «shack», I think its the owners castle – complete with a skateboard ramp! In the next few years Luquillo will be a sweet thriving town and this place, if it can weather the economy, will be successful. We had: salmon with coconut rice, risotto with crimini mushrooms, shrimp with coconut rice and a green salad with passion fruit dressing. It was all delicious.

Wow. This place is a hidden gem! First off the food was amazing– creamy pesto sauce and coconut rice were hits. The ambience is relaxing and gives the island feel. The staff was informative and spoke English very well with generous accommodations. Prices aren’t outrageous for what you get. I would definitely recommend. But personally I didn’t think the cheesecake lived up to the hype. It’s dense, not fluffy.

I just got home from another exceptional meal at Pasta y Pueblo. I went here last year and had offered some honest feedback about things they had to improve. I was so impressed by how literally everything I said had been fixed. This time I went ready with a bottle of wine expecting a long wait for our food, but I was pleasantly surprised to have a much more reasonable wait. They also take cards now so that’s another plus. We got multiple entrees and each one of them was ridiculously good, at this point I don’t think you can go wrong with anything on the menu. I ordered the catch of the day which was mero fillet(grouper) and I have to say it was one of the most delicious fish I’ve ever had in my life. It was perfectly crispy on the outside and super tender and buttery on the inside. It comes with a side sauce but you honestly don’t need it because it’s seasoned and cooked to perfection. The prices might seem slightly high but trust me, it is TOTALLY worth it. Skip the kioskos and go here, you won’t regret it. Also, make sure to check their fb page because they change their working hours from month to month(not sure if it’s updated on Unilocal).

Amazing food in a very unassuming locale. Chef personally came out to ask how everything was. We didn’t have any bug spray so the staff gave us theirs to, use. The seared tuna was some of the best I’ve ever had and the mussels in garlic wine sauce was outstanding.

Berto and I walked in, and the first thought we had was, this is someone’s back yard. The food and customer service is amazing. The prices, in my opinion, were in line with the great quality of the food. I would suggest to anyone visiting this area, to stop in and have a lunch or dinner. So worth it.

It’s an awesome little shack. Look for the round-about with the weird sculpture and you’re pretty much standing in front of Pasta y Puebla. Enter by the skateboard ramp and you’re on your way to a great meal. The chef brought out a little amuse bouchée of grilled eggplant(from their garden) with a creamy pesto and seaweed salad on top. Super yummy. My mom and I both went with the garden salad to start and loved the passion fruit dressing. I had the mahi mahi with pasta and carbonara sauce. My mom went with the scallops with pasta and Alfredo sauce. Both amazing! Dessert was the passion fruit and guava cheesecake. I liked the passion fruit best as it had a tangy, Key Like Pie aspect to it. My mom liked the guava better as it was a more subtly sweet sort of like strawberries. Amazing service and I absolutely loved the shack vibe.

My favorite place in PR! The food is outstanding, and the service is super personal. I feel like I’m part of a Pasta y Pueblo family. The menu is simple and delicious. They have pasta and rice dishes, and you can choose your fish/meat/veggies, and then choose a sauce(I recommend the creamy pesto!). Freddie is an amazing chef and his employees are all friendly and helpful. If you’re looking for a casual, relaxing, sit-down meal in Luquillo, this is the spot to go!

Wow this place is up there. Sissy and I ate here for her bday and it did not disappoint. A little tough to find for us city girls. It’s behind the big ass brown fence. I had the coconut rice and coconut shrimp. Both were delicious, but together just a tad too sweet for this sugar fiend. Sis didn’t offer me a bite of her salmon, but as she massacred her meal she only took breaks for short intervals of breathing. A definite good sign. I snuck a couple bites of her carbonara pasta and that was pretty awesome with big chunks of bacon. I ate two slices of cake for dessert because I am but a mortal and live only once, as I have heard, and the Nutella chocolate cake and guava cheesecake were incredible. I’d like to note I’m giving this establishment a 4.5 stars! I’m just very careful with my stars and I don’t give it up that easy. Our waiter(possibly owner?) was incredibly attentive and charismatic, and loved pointing out how much I love their food as I was double fisting their cake. Chef was awesome too and came out to make sure we loved our food. Si! Well done. Ambience was beach shack rustic shabby chic. Put up more café lights! Across the street from the ocean. Come here! Vamonos!

Hotel concierge suggested this gem as a restaurant nearby, and we couldn’t have had a better experience. Service was awesome and the restaurant was open air. 3 – 4 of the waitstaff/cooks came around and asked us how we were enjoying our meals, which created a very welcoming environment. Ahi tuna was seasoned to perfection, and we enjoyed both the pesto and carbonara pastas. Only drawback was that it was cash only, so we couldn’t go 2 nights in a row ;)

Amazing. Setup like a shack on the beach, but the food is deceptively awesome! The menu is very short, but it caters to a wide range of tastes from vegetarians to red meat eaters! Excellent service too. A delightful dining experience here.

*CASHONLY* My boyfriend and I came here for dinner at 7:15pm on a Saturday night. No wait! Food is spectacular. Mussels in pasta and garlic/oil sauce is OUTOFTHISWORLD. That sauce should be a soup. Mähi mahi is also delicious. Coconut rice has a nice sweet crunch to it. Waiters are very nice and food is served very promptly. Don’t miss out on this hole in the wall gem.

If I could I would gave more than 5 stars!!! It is a hidden gem and with distance the best food we had in Puerto Rico! We ate a salad with fruity dressing and mussels in white wine sauce(I would love to bath in it ;-)) and as main course: tuna to the point and a huge mahi mahi filet on pesto pasta!!! Great, great, great!!! And the stuff was more than friendly, it was like visiting old friends! We definitly come back!

They are back! New location just around the corner from the old place. The staff is VERY attentive and it’s such a welcome change compared to the many slow establishments on island time. Food is delicious. Try the coconut rice ! Great view of the beach complete with breeze. Plenty of parking in field right out front. Don’t judge a Shak by its cover… Surfer ambiance abounds in this place.
