Why are there no fast food restaurants like this in Germany? We were strolling around Amsterdam looking for a not to pricey place to eat something. The waiting queue convinced us to try the place. In addition to that, you can watch the cooks while they’re cooking the wok dishes, for me, that’s a sign that they really believe in their concept and kno, that they should not be ashamed of anything like bad quality or poor cleanliness. The menu was in Dutch and English and pretty easy to understand. You choose between different kind of bases(different noodles, white or brown rice, only veggies), followed by a lot of different kinds of extra«toppings» like pork, chicken and beef and a lot of veggie choices. At last, you have to choose between 8(I think) sauces. The place is great for vegans, because you can choose not to take the egg in the noodles or rice and no meat in your wok dish. I chose the brown rice with broccoli, shiitake mushrooms, cashews and teriyaki sauce. my boyfriend went for the rice noodles with beef and garlic/black pepper sauce. We paid nearly 20 dollars, I must admit, I was a little shocked at first. But then after only five minutes of waiting, when we received our order, I was surprised about the size of the dishes. It was really filling and delicious, too.

Same review I wrote for the other Wok to Walk because the quality and service was consistent! One of the best Chinese food places in general… not just from Amsterdam BUT in general… BUENO. You pick the following when you order: Type of noodles –I got rice noodles– same noodles as the kind that comes with Pad Thai Toppings– I got the shiitake mushrooms, roast pork(fatty portions– LOVE), bamboo shoots(tasted like ones from cans but not bad), shrimp, beef, fried onions, and fried garlic. I recommend roast pork and shiitake mushrooms. Sauce– I have tried the Teriyaki and the hot sauce. I prefer the hot sauce one but I like really flavorful foods. You will prob end up spending around ~15 but it is worth the price. Decent amount of food and it’s good quality. Service is fast. Get a hot sauce packet. I came here THREE times in the 2 days I stayed in downtown Amsterdam. Also… it is a chain store. I went to three different stores because I didn’t know it was a chain and couldn’t tell which one I had to go based off the address =/

I ordered udon noodles with chicken and teriyaki sauce. My food was fresh and tasted so good that I came back here again the next day. Reasonably priced as well!

I had never tried Wok to Walk– a spot my boyfriend loves, so we decided to go there before continuing on to the nearby Vondelpark. It’s like a chipotle for classic stir fry, you can pick meats, veggies, noodles or rice, sauce and toppings! They have a lot of customers, so we decided to take it to go. I ordered a tofu and vegetable mix, with bamboo shoots and spicy Asia sauce. My boyfriend got a shrimp, egg noodle, and curry sauce mix. It tasted great, and comes in a cute orange wok to walk takeout container! The only downside was that my sauce leaked out of the container and all over the place!!! They either gave us a faulty box or didn’t drain the food properly. I would come here again, in the hopes that my food won’t spill and leak constantly!

A friend of mine recently went to the Netherlands and, before anything else I could advice him to visit(Scala Playhouse comes to my mind right now), I told him to check out Wok to Walk. Now, I reckon this might not be the exact location I visited over 8 years ago but, I bet the food is just as good as that. I am pretty sure at the time I visited Wok to Walk in Amsterdam, it was just a brilliant eatery and not the worldwide chain that it is today; I knew it had potential! During my short time visiting Amsterdam, and ever since I discovered this place, I didn’t let a single day pass without me coming here for one meal. That’s how much I loved this place. I have already put a tracker on their website just in case I happen upon a city where they had a franchise open.

everyone says you have to go to wok to walk when in Amsterdam, and so we did. you pick your noodles, and then kind of add whatever you want. pay the fee for fried onions, they’re so crispy and delicious! after much experimenting and tasting, our group decided teriyaki or garlic pepper are likely the best sauce choices(go teriyaki if you’re wanting something more«Chinese foody» for lack of a better way to say it). Worth the price to go just for the experience and it’s a yummy quick filling meal!

Wok to Walk is a quick and tasty lunch option for those on the go! It’s not fancy and thankfully, it’s not trying to be either! Since the refurbishment of this location last year, the shop has opened up to be warm, welcoming and incredibly orange! Even when it’s crammed full of people(lots of tourists because it’s on the edge of Leidsestraat), you’re in and out with your box of noodles(or rice or vegetables), with your choice of protein, extra veggies of your choosing and then the magic sauce that holds it all together– in just a few moments. What’s really fun about this place is watching the woks light up from the heat, oil and sauces being tossed about as the cooks rapidly put together your meal. The great thing about this little hot spot, is consistency– it always tastes the same! No frills and no fuss, another great little lunch time option!

The food taste fresh, the price is a no-brainer and quick food too. It took us longer to wait in line then to get our food and eat. It does take a couple of times to go to figure out how you want to build your bowl.

This place is perfect for a quick bite to eat while waking around. The food is made fresh, inexpensive(around 9 €), venue is fun to people watch. **My review is based on being in Amsterdam/Netherlands/Europe, and comparing it against similar options**

I had walked by this place a few different times the day before so after my friend’s band played at Paradiso on a Tuesday night, I convinced him I wanted noodles for a late dinner. We walked on over and the queue wasn’t too bad and once we got to the front to order, I loved how simple and quick the entire process was. I went with rice noodles, beef, added peanuts and got the garlic/pepper sauce in a to-go box. My friend got something completely different with udon noodles, but he was raving about it afterward. The cooking time was very quick and our names were being called shortly after we had sat down at one of the tables. My noodles were AMAZING! I’ve never had such a delicious meal in a box, haha. Maybe the copious amounts of beer enhanced my taste buds, but OMG, that meal was one of the best I’ve ever had and my friend completely agreed. I really wish Wok to Walk would come to Seattle! The price was about 8 euros, but it can be cheaper or more expensive just depending on what you get and how much you add on. Whenever I’m back in Amsterdam, I will be sure to stop by here for a late night meal again.

One of my favorite places to grab a quick bite. It’s a great simple concept: for the base price you get your pick of noodles or rice with egg, basic stir fry vegetables and one of the oriental wok-sauces they offer. If you want to add extra ingredients like different kinds of meat and fish or fruits and vegetables you have to pay a small premium. The fun thing is to experiment with the different ingredients and sauces, they don’t really offer a menu with suggestions. The food itself is great for what it is, because let’s be honest: it’s a sort of Asian fast-food. But I would always pick this place above Mc Donalds or the other usual suspects in the fast-food carrousel.

Can’t tell you how many meals I’ve eaten at W2W. Delicious, quick, cheap, fun. What a fool I am not to have been to the one in NYC yet.

I’m traveling here in Amsterdam with children, one of which has the stomach bug and can’t eat anything but white rice. I didn’t mind paying the full meal deal price of 4.95 euro(about 7.50 $ Canadian for a small box of plain rice) but when they handed it to me half full, I simply asked if they can fill it with rice instead of leaving space for egg, vegetables, sauce, and meat. The gentleman snapped at me telling me that it’s my choice for ordering it like that and I don’t deserve getting anything more. I explained that it’s less expensive for them to fill it with plain rice than the other items. He yelled at me in front of the entire restaurant staff and patrons that if he filled it for me that everyone in the world would want a full box of rice. 7.50 $ and I get a half box of rice while my child is crying. It’s a cold dark day in warm friendly lovely Amsterdam when you’re greeting like this!

I grabbed a box here when I arrived in Amsterdam. I flew in the late evening, and somehow flying just messes up my appetite, so I just wanted something quick and not fussy. This was close to my hotel, so I opted to line up. I have to say that I have been to other Wok to Walk establishments before, and this isn’t the best one. I have one in Berlin, and unlike the folks there, the noodles here come out as soggy, and somewhat blah. And yet it seems that this place is more popular, as evidenced by the plenty of people lining up to get a box. Oh, it is more expensive than the one in Berlin too, but then again Amsterdam is a more expensive city. Overall, for an average quick noodle experience, with a price range that is more than what I am used to, I am giving this just 3 stars. It’s ok. But I would probably find other places that have better food.

I found my take out absolutely tasty and wonderful — just what I needed after a long day in the city. It was 8pm and I was in and out in 20min so there was some waiting in line and waiting for my meal box but nothing unexpected. Good value for your late night money. I paid 8,45 € for rice noodles, chicken, shiitake mushrooms and Bangkok sauce. Delicious!

This is a fast food made to order asian restaurant. You can tailor your plate to your liking choosing the type of noodles, sauce and additions like meat and vegetables. It’s a busy place. You can get a good sized portion of food for a good price. It’s tasty and filling. It’s not a place to go for ambiance but fast, no frills, inexpensive, tasty asian food. It’s a chain restaurant so I’d expect it’s mostly only in busy tourist locations.

Probably the cheapest meal we’ve been able to find in Amsterdam(starts at 5 euros, usual meals are 7.5 euros with meat). Choose your carb(rice/noodles), meat and veggie options, toppings and sauce. Nothing officially gluten free but I had a good experience with rice noodles, meat and curry sauce bowl. Atmosphere is upbeat and food service is fast – also handy if you don’t have time to dawdle at a café.

quick, fast, tasty, kind of healthy option! A lot of people eat here… you will be standing in queue. Small seating area as well. it is like stir fry! you say what you want. and wait 2 minutes, and then enjoy.
