I had a really unpleasant experience here. I found the old man to be very rough with the acupuncture. I usually enjoy acupuncture a lot but he put the needles in so deep that it was painful. He also coughed without covering his mouth constantly which was a huge turn off. I wouldn’t recommend this place if you’re looking for a therapeutic or relaxing environment. 1 star for the price.

Well, that was interesting. The man doesn’t seem to speak Dutch but doesn’t speak English either, which would have been fine if he hadn’t kept saying«yes» to just about everything I said or asked. He said«yes» when I asked if he spoke English — since he’d replied«yes» when I spoke Dutch to him. I wanted an acupuncture session but he also kept saying, «Massage. Yes. 1 hour. Yes.» I sought this place based on the good Unilocal reviews below, and I’m glad others have had good experiences, but if I ever did get the practitioner to understand that I wanted acupuncture I wouldn’t have been able to trust him to stick needles in my body :) The search for an acupuncturist goes on!

Love this place. I stop in for a massage every time I’m in Amsterdam, and always walk out feeling like I got a new pair of feet after a long day walking the canals.

I saw the rave reviews Dr. Tong received especially from the States and I had a problem with my neck, back, hips and legs. I have had accupuncture before but this man was very good. His english is non existent, but when I walked in, he almost knew exactly where I was feeling off. We went up stairs and he started to apply all these cups, no accupuncture. i was skeptical but by the end of the 1 hour treatment, I was back almost 100%. He even rubbed this oil over my huge blister on my heel(never wear new shoes when traveling) and it immediately stopped hurting! His prognosis was I needed to lose weight and so I bought the herbal remedies and will let you know if they work. I also bought the patches which work really well. Highly recommend going here if you aren’t feeling 100%

Love this place. Was here a month ago. Have always had neck pain from being rear-ended in 2007. Had nagging pain. The little lady stuck pins into my arm, neck, and scalp and had the best relief ever. Will be coming back next time I come to Amsterdam. Just a tip… you have to make an appointment if you want to be seen during the day before 1700. After that it is manned and you can just walk in.

I came to this place after spraining my ankle and they have a variety of Chinese medicine treatments. After massaging my swollen ankle with medicine oil and cupping, I was given herbs to put on my ankle for 4 days. The results were immediate, walking was a lot less painful and I was able to catch my flight and do sight seeing the next day. Pricing was very reasonable as well.

This place does effective acupuncture and herbal Chinese remedies, even if it’s a little rustic and their English isn’t the best. Their Dutch is pretty good, however. I came here looking for general acupuncture to relieve stress I had after moving to A’dam and to get rid of this stressy eye twitch I’ve had for about 6 weeks. Inside I found a nice old Chinese man and(I assume) his son, in a tiny shop surrounded by Chinese herbs. The older man was massaging a tourist’s feet and the son translated for him from English to Chinese what I was looking for. I got a price quote for an acupuncture treatment and a Chinese herbal remedy, and I went to see the old man. The old man took my pulse, looked at my tongue and said I had low energy. This may sound weird but it’s consistent with acupuncture treatments I’ve had before. He motioned for me to go upstairs to the treatment rooms, and then motioned for me to take off my clothes(!) down to my underwear. I was able to pantomime getting a towel from him to cover up my butt area, and then he had me lay on my stomach. He did some pretty uncomfortable acupuncture and cupping, but I could feel a real difference as soon as he put in the first few needles. It was like a light switch was turned on inside me and I started sweating profusely for about 10 minutes. He left me with the needles for about 30 minutes and after he took them out I got dressed, went downstairs and he gave me a bag of herbs to boil and drink 3 times a day. I immediately had an increase in energy and the herbs helped even more, which I found amazing. I still feel more energy almost a week later. I still have some circular bruises from the cupping but they don’t hurt. Overall the experience was a little weird, but I’ll definitely be back, wearing some more modest underwear next time. :)

While walking around Amsterdam for a full day, my legs started to really hurt, to the point I could no longer walk… all my muscles started to seize up in my legs, arms and back. I was flying home the next day and knew that if I didn’t get some relief, I would be miserable on my 10 hour flight. I happened to notice a Chinese acupuncture place at the beginning of the day and made my way there. The place is a little 2 floor shop. There is nothing shiny or clean about it, but it was functional. The people are nice and helpful. I received a treatment of chi kung massage and some acupuncture cupping for an hour. Although I was mildly bruised for over a week, I felt much better and everything was loosened up. The prices were reasonable, I think I paid 30 euro for 1 hour.
