Cette chouette et grande pâtisserie nous a vu débarquer affamés et a satisfait notre estomac et notre palais de la plus chouette des façons.
L’accueil a été très chaleureux et patient malgré notre incapacité à choisir rapidement tellement tout nous faisait envie. Nous avons goûté un Apple pie généreux et savoureux, des muffins à la pomme-​cannelle, à la vanille et ils étaient également à la hauteur de leur apparence.
Des prix raisonnables pour cette capitale européenne terriblement attirante, quelques panières disposés dans la boutique afin de goûter différents pains, autant de raisons de revenir et de finir la découverte de l’intégralité des produits proposés ici.

I really wanted an appletaart and this bakery seemed to have good reviews and the storefront looked pleasing. I wanted to dine but no outside drinks were allowed, so I took it to go. Mind you, they give you the option of taking cake to go yet they don’t provide plastic utensils either. So I had to eat it with my hands? It wasn’t enjoyable at all and the staff had attitude. Go elsewhere for a pastry. Maybe next time I’ll just walk further to Winkel.

Nice bakery, great bread and spreads. Especially love the raisin bread they have. My favorite is to get the platter to share with several friends. They bring out all varieties of fresh baked breads along with delicious spreads like salmon salad, gouda, home made hummus, etc

Warm and simple bakery with a salad and sandwich bar in the back. They have a wonderful range of sandwich for moderate prices. They also do smoothies and coffee etc and have friendly staff, even though they often look rushed due to the steady flow of people through their doors

Vlaamsch Broodhuys on Vijzelstraat 109 is convenient if you are staying in Rembrandtplein, approx 5 – 10 minutes walk.
I ordered the baker’s breakfast with tea for 10,50 Euros. It came with a basket of bread including croissants with a pot of butter and jams, slice of ham and cheese. It’s enough bread to share with someone. This location has a nice airy dining area decorated in neutral shades. My friend and I stayed a little longer to chat during breakfast as the place was quite inviting. We still had time in the day to visit Zaanse Schaans and take a canal tour back in Amsterdam central. Also bought a chocolate croissant to go for 1,50 Euros.
As previous reviewer mentioned, they do not accept cash, cards only. (My U.S. credit cards do not have a pin code so I could not swipe; give the card to the cashier to ring up your tab.)

Perfect place for a coffee or lunch break. Great service and meals. Remember you can’t pay cash but with cards only. I recommend the chicken breast pesto gouda hot sandwich. Muffins are also delicious!

Vlaamsch Broodhuys is a small chain of bakery/​lunch/​brunch place with similarities to Le Pain Quotidien. They are fresh specialty breads, and desserts, jams and hazelnut chocolate pastes are available on tables. Fresh fruits and vegetables are used in healthy dishes. Differences are that the décor is a little less chain-​like, and the food is less expensive.
We tried:
Brunch Platter
A beautiful platter with cheeses, meats, salads, mozzarela tomatoes. It is perfect to share with the beautiful and delicious bread basket
Smoked Salmon and greek yogurt
Fresh smoked salmon with a well balance tzatziki. The yogurt did not have a strong garlic flavor and was well seasoned with herbs and spices.
Bread Basket
Great and fresh breads. A perfect combo with the platter.
A great places for breakfast or lunch.

I highly recommend the goat cheese-​honey sandwich. I’ve been coming to this establishment for years and it never disappoints. PS: my girlfriend loves the tomato soup made without cream.
