This is a small place mix of café and bistro on a lovely corner and of course a canal. During summertime there outside seats which makes it very special. But VERY special is their apple pie served with cinnamon or vanilla ice cream. It is to die for and no jokes. I would rate it with more star but service is very slow. Actually based in only one guy who does everything. Serve tables, clean, pour drinks, get dishes and charge and give changes. Possibly he also prepares the food. I could see anyone else in there. All this on a Friday evening around 8pm.

Stopped in for a light snack. Ordered a beer and the split pea soup. Absolutely delicious! My dinning companions ordered penne ala norma, delicious and a ham and cheese sandwich, also delicious. The service was friendly and very good. The place was small and cozy. The atmosphere was warm. Highly recommend. Sure wish I had some of that soup right now.

We went here on our first day in Amsterdam(December 26th) and we were really happy with our choice! Our waiter was a delight; he was sweet and funny — the only bad thing was that he made us try Bittenballen and that was really not our thing, but then again it wasn’t his fault. For the main course we had Lamb Shank and it was SO good! A real piece of heaven considering the price and everything!

Wandered in after walking around the area between Centraal station and the Jordaan, looking for something my vegetarian friend and I would both enjoy. The mint pea soup on the specials board sounded good to him, and the cozy canal-side dining room appealed to me. We sat at a tiny table with a view of the lively evening street activity. Our waiter was very friendly and spoke perfect English. Food was good, wine was delicious, and we had a lovely evening in Amsterdam. Only later did I read the reviews about the«don’t miss» dishes here. Guess I’ll have to come back!

Possibly one of the best burgers I’ve ever had. The steaks were also top class. Friendly service and great location.

It’s name, the messy interior, top-of-canal-bridge-terrace and sure the good drinks and food, all together make it a good café. Located a bit hidden, away from«tourist highways» in city centre, close to ‘de Jordaan’. Still terrace can be crowded with locals and tourists. This afternoon a very friendly waitress served me coffee and their famous apple pie. A relief after being ignored in the Coffee Company, I skip them in future.

Stopped here for lunch. It is very quaint small place on a corner in downtown Amsterdam with rustic antique tables with benches or chairs and candles on tables. I started with minted pea soup which was delicious — it was served with a few pieces of wonderful brown bread. My husband had the spicy chicken sandwich which wasn’t very spicy but also great bread and very tasty. I had the asparagus salad. It wasn’t really what I would call a salad but rather steamed asparagus with butter, Parmesan cheese, and shaved almonds. The asparagus were cooked perfectly and tasted great. We wanted to try the apple pie because the smell of it filled the air but we were just too full. I recommend stopping in at Zeezicht for either a coffee and some sweets or lunch. They have both inside and outdoor seating.

Villa Zeezicht is just too touristic to be a nice place. Not because of the tourists but because of the surcharge of around 25%(1 plain fried egg € 4, uitsmijter naturel € 7,50 — what’s wrong with you guys?!), the unhelpful, inattentive, arrogant staff and the inflexibility with paying. Splitting bills is not possible. And btw, you don’t get a check but they will just tell you the total amount. Maybe it’s because it’s summer. Because the people visit anyway and won’t return because they’re tourists. They won’t mind because they’ll enjoy sitting in the sun on the gorgeous terrace by the canal and watch the boats passing by. Very stupid attitude. I think I remember being treated friendly and like an actual guest when we once visited in winter and the place was almost empty.

We chose this place because of the ambiance and the close proximity to our bed and breakfast. We made a reservation, which was handled efficiently. On arrival, our table was waiting. All good. Our server was very friendly. The food choices were limited, but the dishes were tasty. We waited a long time for our food, but as we were not in a hurry, it wasn’t a problem. The bread they gave us was delicious, especially with the olive oil provided. We ordered a bowl of olives. We struggled to get the bill to pay. Would we return? Maybe.

Based on everyone’s reviews of the apple tart, we stopped here for dessert. The apple tart was a little dry and the ice cream was the saving grace. I would pass on this the next time we’re in Amsterdam.

Amazing! My husband and I wandered in here without having ever heard of it. Most other places in the area were closed at 9 pm on a Sunday. The service was excellent, and the food was perfect. The atmosphere is quite laid back; they even have a super-comfy couch. If you’re in the area, this is the place to be. You cannot pass up the apple pie with cinnamon ice cream!

Wonderful café! The apple pie is da bomb, phenomenal, awesome. Deep breaths, Katelyn. Their coffee is also so rich and tasty. I come here every time I’m in Amsterdam. Sit outside and watch all the bikes go by. So nice. Just a note though, skip it if you are in a hurry. The service can be really slow, but the apple pie is worth the wait.

It was the Lonely Planet Guide that led us here. It was the apple tart with cream that will keep me coming back, every time I get to Amsterdam. Oh, and the coffee was superb.

My absolute favorite restaurant for breakfast in Amsterdam. Villa Yeezicht is small and located on a corner in the Jordaan area of Amsterdam. Think of all those pictures you’ve seen of the canals and houses in Amsterdam. That’s the Jordaan area. Not knowing that stores and restaurants in Amsterdam usually opens at 11AM, we arrived a little early in the area on a Monday morning. There were only a handful of restaurants open and this was one of them. We decided to sit down and order some food. Sitting on one of the outdoor seating areas, we watched shop owners set up for the day and people heading off to work. This was the moment I fell in love with Amsterdam. Service was excellent. The waitress was friendly and cheerful. We ordered a big breakfast plate and a tuna ciabatta. The big breakfast came with a coffee, fresh squeezed orange juice, fresh baked croissant, warm bread, ham, cheese, tomatoes, lettuce, cucumbers and a boiled egg. Everything simple, but delicious. The tuna ciabatta sandwich had the right amount of spice with a kick and capers. It was moist, the tuna cold and while the bread being warm. We couldn’t have asked for a better way to begin our morning.

This was the first restaurant we went to based on the positive Unilocal reviews. We weren’t disappointed. My wife ordered beef and pasta(can’t remember the name) and I ordered the lamb shank. The quality of the food was out of this world! We don’t have anything remotely close to this in the states. For a pedestal ending, we ordered the apple pie, which everyone raves about. Best apple pie we’ve ever had!!!
