Well, it happens you have problems with your internet provider and unluckily it always happens on a weekend and the router magically stops working… you call the help desk and they schedule for you a technician appointment for mid of the following week between 12.00 and 18.00. Sounds ridiculous… but hey… that what you sign up :) So, bright alternative, not suggested from the help desk guy, is to get to the UPC store directly and get a router replacement. Luckily for me… in Amsterdam there are two shops, once relatively close to where I live… and luckily again… the issue happened before 17.30, the time the shop closes. I get to the store, pick up my number… WAIT20 minutes… yes. the store was packed… and finally I get helped form a very professional person, speaks perfect English… she gives me a brand new router and here I am … ready to browse again. Make sure when you go for a replacement in the shop to take your old router/modem with you… as they need it to execute the swap. Over all. super efficient service… and now I have a brand new CISCO Cable Modem /Router. Way too many features… do not need all of them but if you are a bit«smart» with networking you can disable all the unwanted /un needed features fast.
