Although just hearing the name Trouw takes 10 minutes off my life, if you like good music and partying hard you cannot pass on a night at Trouw, Amsterdams closest thing to a Berlin style club. The club is made up of two main rooms, the first a long hall with a stage you can balter on set behind the DJs and looking back out over the crowd and into the industrial beams above. There are two bars here, with one in the restaurant nestled at the back of the hall behind some stairs that climb to an open VIP area above it. There is also a smoking area off the the side of the hall. Downstairs is a second room which is much smaller and often heavier, with the more hardcore revelers thrashing about until well past sunrise. Trouw often has lines that last up to a few hours, even when other clubs are shutting their doors. I suggest buying tickets online ahead so you can skip the queue. Also, this Amsterdam institution is closing down at the end of the year so be sure to cut loose here at least once before they move to a new undisclosed location. That’ll only be 10 minutes off your life, which is well worth it.

Probabaly the best club in Amsterdam and for sure one of the nicest undergound clubs i have ever been. Interesting DJ bookings, great atmosphere on the dancefloor, massive soundsystem and the place is an incredible old factory with a lot of different rooms.

The building itself is constructed nicely. Wonderful flow to the crowd. Over all good«underground» dance club for Amsterdam’s locals

It is little bit out of AMS Ring but must have a place for Music Lovers. Entrance is 18 €, drink prices are OK. but the most important thing is PEOPLE. Everybody just having their good time, dancing like praying. Sounds, lights … it is a very cool place rather than Leidse Clubs.

a girlfriend and i were looking for a place to have dinner in the oost and doing a quick search on Unilocal we decided on this place. the restaurant has a great stylish industrial feel with the kitchen being right plop in the middle with glass walls, which i liked because you can watch all the magic happening in the kitchen. i could tell the menu was heavy on vegetarian dishes with only a few meat dishes. they also had a vegetarian tasting menu which is what we decided to go for. it’s 22.50 per person but it can only be ordered if your whole table is ordering it. i think this is weird. what if you’re a table of four and not everyone wants that? it should be maybe a minimum two person at the table ordering the taster. our waitress was very friendly and service was more than decent. the waitress described all the dishes as being tasters, not quite as small as tapas though. aka, at least to me meant family style which is my favorite way of eatting! the vegetarian menu ended up being most of the vegetarian dishes on the menu and we enjoyed everyone of them! i’m not a vegetarian but i didn’t even miss the meat! every dish that came out was so flavorful and well seasoned. i think my favorites were the caramelized fennel, grilled eggplant with pesto/feta and the grilled cheese over lentils. it also came with dessert which was something similar to a cream puff but more of a eggy custardy filling. we enjoyed every bite of every dish and nothing was left on our plates. i will definitely be back to try some of their other dishes and enjoy a meal out on their terrace during the warmer months. vegetarians and non vegetarians give this place a try!

This is probably my favorite place in Amsterdam. Trouw is a pop-up restaurant, so it is only a restaurant/club until they find a better use for the space. In my opinion it should stay a restaurant because the food is dank and the nightlife is incredible. I went here to the Trouw Night Bazaar and had a fantastic time. The drinks are affordable and the DJ was amazing. The dance floor was big enough that I had plenty of space and could meander right up against the speakers if I wanted. They were limiting the amount of people that entered to make sure it was always a comfortable density. The place is massive so if you were sick of one room you can just migrate to another. I can’t wait to go to another event here!

This is probably one of the best dancing venues I have been to in my life, and trust me, I have been to a few. OK, so I am not from Amsterdam, so the tricky thing is this… when you are a tourist, you tend to find cheesy places to go to, because you don’t know better. But, I was lucky enough to have some Dutch Unilocal friends who guided me away from tourist traps So thanks Karin M. for rescuing me and showing me such an awesome time! This venue is inside a former newspaper building. Now when you hear that, you know you are in for a treat. All I could think of was wow this reminds me of home. We get here pretty early and there was already a bit of a line. I was told that later the line was insane to get in, so if I were you, come early. This place is massive and when we walked into the main room, I was mesmerized. I mean the lighting was fantastic, rainbow lighting on the ceiling but done in a very tactful way and can I tell you how awesome the sound system was? A good sound system is one where it seems pretty loud with the bass going through you but at the same time you can have a normal conversation with your friend. No shouting, no awkwardness. We came on a night with sick House music going on, and I mean sick in a good way. We pretty much danced the night away and didn’t leave the club until close to sunrise… I am also very impressed with the bathrooms. Unisex for the most part, all the stalls are male/female, so no lines. It is all open and never once throughout the night did I have to wait for a stall. They also sell cool T-shirts, so I suggest you buy one of these and bring it home as a souvenir. You’ll be the coolest kid on the block!

Oh, snap! I found my favorite club in Amsterdam. Finally! Went here for the Vice Noisey Music launch party last night. I was like a kid at Disneyland when I first entered «Cool! An old factory!» «Cool! A bunch of different rooms!» «COOL…an INCREDIBLE sound system!» «COOL! Everyone is dancing and happy!» This club is really incredible. Something to see for sure. Different corners and rooms and crevices to get your dance on. Great djs. The fact that it’s across the river for me makes the walk to and from pretty damn awesome, too. Head there now. Enjoy!

A club/restaurant in an old newspaper office. This place is really awesome. They host a lot of great parties and all sorts of cool events like Night Bazar or short film evenings. The place looks totally cool and industrial and a lot of cool people come here for dinner and dancing. Food is also fine. In summer you can sit outside.

4 stars for the space and the sick techno that rolls through. 1 star for the a – hole door staff who treat you like cattle. Guest list or pass… I don’t need attitude from some lunk when I’m a paying customer!

This review is for both the club and the restaurant. The club: great DJs, pretty large space. I’ve only been there accidentally on gay night, and it was a ton of fun! The inside is pretty awesome, very industrial. The restaurant: they have a very veggie-friendly menu, with plates that are bigger than tapas and smaller than mains, so great for sharing and trying lots of options. Their staff is very nice. They have an open kitchen. Fresh and creative dishes. They have a great outdoor terrace, too, so with nice weather, is really lovely. They recently renovated, so there is a green/living wall in the dining area. Kitchen can be a bit slow, but take your time and savor every bite! Nice selection of wine’s, too.

Industrial venue in a space where the old printing presses of Dutch daily Trouw used to be. The place to keep an eye on if your into techno and other electronic music. Unfortunately, this place has one of those door nazis, that are rude and unwelcoming even though you’re bringing them your money.
