Exceptional service, a very homey place to enjoy breakfast. The food is made fresh cooked to order. The natural squeezed orange juice was phenomenal. Our table had 4 different plates that were all delicious. Highly recommended!

WOW! We really wanted something quaint and cozy with great food, and we found so much more! We ordered egg whites (without any faces or issues) and bacon as well as coffees. The toast that came with eggs was perfectly toasted and very tasty. We got a side of bitter orange marmalade, which paired perfectly with the toast. While our meal was being prepared, the owner came and sat with us to explain the city a bit. He gave us a map and some insider secrets. He also offered us some chocolate eggs (it was easter weekend). What a beautiful spirit and beautiful café. When we got our coffees, that were made just how we like, they came with a homemade almond cookie. It was one of our favorite things that we ate in all of the Netherlands. Everything was 5+ Stars, the food, the ambiance, the service and that cookie!

Simple! Delicious! Friendly and quick service with a smile. Hubby had the ham and cheese croissant, and then another ham and cheese croissant! Yes it was that good. Our friends had the bacon and scrambled egg — always a favorite… As well as the Brie and cheese toast. Yum. Definitely heading back before we leave.

Kleines Café’chen, wo wir uns für einen Nachmittagskaffee niedergelassen haben. Hier passen grad mal so 15 Leute rein, aber gerade deswegen wirkt es sehr charmant. Wir haben uns diesmal nur einen Café gegönnt (Himmel, war der stark), aber hier kann man bestimmt auch nett frühstücken und sich die ein oder andere Stulle gönnen.

What a wonderful find for a no-​frills breakfast/​brunch in the red light district! The two owners work together to make sure their guests have a wonderful meal.
The menu is real small and simple, but the ingredients are fresh. And since everything is made to order, you might have to wait a little for your order to arrive. Fear not, you could engage in conversation with other diners or keep yourself busy with sudoku on the table.
The orange juice was nice and like everyone else, I tried the scrambled eggs. The bread alongside was toasted just right! Don’t worry about ordering a lot of stuff as the portions are generous.
Next time I am in the neighborhood looking for a simple relaxing brunch I know where to go!

This is really a hidden gem right in the center of Amsterdam, and you really feel like you’re walking into somebody’s living room and getting cooked a truly homemade breakfast. Lovely, cozy, personable, simple and delicious.

Amazing mom and pop breakfast. The granola and yogurt is amazing. The eggs, bacon, and toast as well as the coffee were all delicious. What a great mom and pop joint. Be careful of the street cleaners Sunday morning, we got hit by them at 10:15 amazing; there is only one table on the street, and several small tables inside. One 6 person max table.

My girlfriend and I traveled around Europe and Asia for three weeks and had just about given up hope that we would find a filling, well-​rounded breakfast. Then we discovered this place on Unilocal and gave it a try and we ended up eating there each of the four days that we stayed in Amsterdam. The food was incredible, the service was so genuine, and we loved every minute of our time with the owners. The most expensive thing on the menu was € 8, so there are no barriers for anyone to try this place! This place is a must for anyone looking for an excellent breakfast in a welcoming environment, and even for those who are looking for a hangover cure.

We ate breakast here yesterday. The proprietor was very nice and the ambiance was quaint. We both had the scrambled eggs with bacon and coffee. The scrambled eggs were perfect. The bread/​toast was amazing. The bacon was very good however also very salty. The coffee was excellent. We will go back again.

As an American I’m used to scrambled eggs and meat for breakfast, which I found little of in Paris and London (other than a traditional «fry-​up»), so I was really pleasantly surprised at the availability of a simple breakfast here.
The place is tiny and the server/​owner/​manager was lovely, sweet and the service was great. The scrambled eggs were cooked perfectly (nice and fluffy, not overcooked) and the toast that came with it was AMAZING, high quality bread. Highly recommend.

A great little brunch/​lunch spot for your morning-​after in Centrum. It’s a mum-​n-​pop and you can tell they take great pride in serving up great food, treats, and coffee. The muesli and yogurt looks like a small breakfast snack on paper but is actually quite large and filling.
It’s got a massive dining room table on the street level, and maybe 4 tables on the second level. This makes it a really intimate, yet charming place. The communal dining room table is big enough for a large group looking to wake up (or forget the shenanigans) after a night out or making new friends. If you’re up on the second level, you enjoy a nice and quiet view looking onto Zeedijk with various sweet treats staring you directly in the face taunting you to eat them.
Overall it is a great, quiet café with reasonable prices given its location.

Fabulous! Been here three times during our visit to Amsterdam and I’m sure we’ll be back a few more! Tom creates a «right at home» atmosphere in his quaint lunchroom, and the food he creates is simple yet delicious! Great breakfast/​lunch sandwiches on hearty breads and eggs done perfectly with a side of bacon! Love to sit and enjoy a macchiato or fresh orange juice (the best!) and nibble on the little cookies he proudly bakes and serves with each cup… yummmm!
