Very cosy and friendly! The toasties are totally amazing and fill very well. You will leave with a smile. Guaranteed.

Very cozy interior, great food and great service! Talked with the waitress for a bit and she was very friendly and took the time to greet us. My teenage daughter and I decided to come back the next day and eat again. If you are in Amsterdam, you need to check this place out!

Very cute café that serves toasted triple-decker sandwiches. I wanted breakfast to go, so they made me a bacon, sliced hard boiled egg, and Gouda sandwich on light bread. Delish! Although the Dutch leave something to be desired in bacon. This would not be acceptable in Denmark! ;-) Great latte but only a small size.

Toastable is nice little place in the center of Amsterdam. Definitely go there if you want a nice lunch or breakfast. Toasted sandwich or a salad all is good. And prices are reasonable for the portions.

We had a really nice breakfast here on the way to the train station one morning. They don’t have a lot of selection for breakfast, but if you’re looking for a quick croissant with jam and ham and cheese breakfast, this will foot the bill. The two ladies that were preparing the food were so nice and I’m pretty sure the breads had just come out of the oven before they were served to us. The pies they were making looked amazing, so make sure you grab a coffee and pie on a sunny afternoon sometime!

Jamais j’y retournerai

Toastable is a lovely little place right around the corner of Spui. As the name suggests its mostly focused on toasts, all kinds of it. They also have a breakfast menu, smoothies, cakes and soup. The service is supr friendly and attentive. For Amsterdam, the prices are pretty good. For a fancier kind of toast you pay up to 7 €. This may sound like much, that’s what I thought. But wait! I got a triple toast with chicken, bacon, onion and curry and I wasn’t able to finish my portion. But it was absolutly no problem to get the rest to take away, in the prettiest little box. The interior is very lovely, white walls, small pictures, and mirrors with the specials written on them. Very sweet. Btw. There’s free Wi-fi as well :)

The buttery smell of the freshly baked croissants pulled me in early on a Sunday morning and I had the whole place to myself. Friendly, courteous staff eager to serve. The croissant was worth € 2.

I think that this is one of the best places to had lunch … Literally its AWESOME. Where to start from the salad? They are hudge and simple not drown in sauce and veeeeery filling. The Toasts? Ok i guess you can get it formthe name this is what these guys specialize to and they are damn good at it. Dutch portions(meaning super big) with different fillings that im sure will cover everyone need. I go t for the simple ham and cheese and believe me even that is suuuuuuuuper yamy. The coffee is also a must to try. And if you are not a coffee lover well then give their tea a try So you hungry and want a quick bite its simple … Go to toastable: D

Nice location, food was tasty however the slow service detracted from the nicer aspects. The wait was around 40 minutes for our food and 20 minutes for just coffee and orange juice. Personally the wait was simply not worth it.

Although I’m not a fan of «social networks» where the customer must Facebook like a business to get WiFi after my second visit to Toastable there is lots to like, like carrot cake, brownies and a super friendly staff. Vriendelijk, gezellig en lekker.

Bang for your buck! Loved the simple and straightforward choices. If those don’t do it for you, you can customize your own toastie. Each toastie comes with its own dip — either mayo, ketchup or mustard. I went for the corn bread(yum) but the dark bread option looks great as well. The toastie has three slices of toast so you’re sure to fill up. If you get thirsty like I usually do when eating toast, there’s lots of ice tea and juice options.

I adore this place. If I checked in every single time I came here. well, you’d wonder if I worked here instead of down the road :/ For a morning coffee, afternoon coffee or late afternoon sugar rush, these guys are great! It’s not a strong coffee but it’s creamy and delicious and best of all, it’s NOTBURNT(ok. sometimes it’s burnt but it’s not Starbucks) and you always get a cookie. And sometimes this cookie is homemade. It’s basically heaven in a super cute cup that comes with super comfy corrugated holder! Anyway, things that I adore about this place: TOASTIES! Well duh. There is truly nothing more homely and satisfying than a ham and cheese toastie(squished together on 3SLICES, that’s right, 3SLICESOFBANGINGBREAD)! Do try the deluxe meatball toastie(ask for satay sauce instead of the mayo) or the deluxe chicken! Because yum. Oh and the bacon with brie! So good! Service is usually pretty spectacular if you eat in as well. The guys and gals here are super sweet, it’s like they enjoy serving people food(unlike most of the Amsterdam café culture where like. they don’t). The only terrible thing is, sometimes the wait is looooooooooooooong. I’ve waited over 30 minutes for a toastie(whilst eating in). My work colleagues and I have cheated, where we call ahead to order a toastie to pick up– they say, cheerfully, that should be ready in about 10 minutes! We rock up 20 minutes later and they are only then slicing and dicing it up to put in a takeaway container but the timing is perfect so everyone wins. But really, that’s a tiny issue because everything else about this place is great! Worth the wait. They have free wifi here so you can bum about online for a bit or sip a coffee(with home made cookie). This place is lekker. I’ll be back tomorrow. And the day after that too.

Toastable is a cute half-underground breakfast and lunch place. I had lunch here a couple of times and really liked it! The distinctive and interesting thing about toastable is their tosti’s: they offer different kinds of these dutch«croque-monsieur»: three toasts garnished traditionally with ham and cheese. Here, they have much more variety and offer original and tasty ingredients to garnish the tosti’s. Last time, I had the special of the month which was a vitello tonnato with parmigiano, tomato, rucola, served with truffle mayonnaise: really nice! They also have a nice breakfast menu: you can pretty much compose your own breakfast, choosing among different pastries, cheeses, ham, vegetables, etc. I’ll need to try that one once! Oh and I really like their homemade ice-teas! — finally a place that serves non-sparkling ice-tea in this country, what a relief…(seriously what’s up with the sparkling ice-tea, dudes??) The interior is all white and pastel colors, very cute. There are a few tables outside in front of the canal. Service is really nice, too. A very nice place for breakfast/brunch/lunch!

While my girlfriend loved this place I do no think it warrants the full five stars. The toast sandwiches are very much like American club sandwiches but better due to the selection and the ingredients. The atmosphere was also nice and quiet. Another huge plus is e free wifi. Truthfully I would not eat here for breakfast but definitely would tell people that if they want a place to relax and get off the busy streets, this is the place to go.

Lovely place right on the canal next to the flower market. Their toasted sandwiches are huge and very tasty. Would definitely recommend this place for breakfast or lunch.
