Sushi ‘n Sake

If saying this is the best sushi we had in Europe would be a little exaggerating. It is surely one of the best. Really fresh sushi, the salmon is sashimi is like heaven in your mouth. It is unpretentious, small, fast-​food takeaway like restaurant in a corner of the dappermarkt. But the sushi is best quality. Also really worth the price, quite cheap. Last time we been there was the new years eve. Seven o’clock and we were the last customers.
We had sushi for new year’s eve dinner, that is how much we love their sushi. They were a bit in the rush, and did’t seem to be too happy for the fact that we decided to eat there rather than take away. We decided we would still give it a nice rating if the sushi satisfies us. And OMG they totally earned it.
The fish are so fresh, and they make everything right there for your orders. We had 4×4 iso rolls, 2 nigiri, 2hand rolls and salmon sashimi. Really happy with every choice we made.
And they do delivery and also the ice creams are great.

Being from Vancouver, one of the sushi capitals of the world, where you can eat fresh sushi and sashimi like a king for $ 10 per person, I’m naturally highly critical of sushi places. This is why I don’t love «Japanese restaurants» that serve sushi — I don’t want pomp and circumstance with my sushi, I want it to be a little hole in the wall joint that serves up fast, fresh and good sushi without causing my wallet to jump off a bridge. But I also don’t want to feel like I have ANY chance of getting poisoned. (Important when you’re eating raw fish!!) And this place is probably as close as it gets in Amsterdam.
While I’m not a fan of their liberal use of mayonnaise or their rather Westernized rolls, the sashimi was fresh and delicious, the service was fast and the prices surprisingly reasonable (again, for Amsterdam). A light dinner for 3 cost us about 40 €. Unfortunately their sake is *terrible*, but the beer is good :-)
Their primary business is clearly takeaway but they’ve got a cute little spot on the Dappermarkt with a few indoor and outdoor tables. Decently fast service as well, although they screwed up our order once or twice, they weren’t fussy about fixing their errors. Good if you’re in the area!

Excellent quick and fresh sushi place! Great value for money. Comes highly recommended. Not a big all-​you-​can-​eat place. But a smaller more authentic japanese restaurant. I will be a returning customer.

Went here for a quick lunch and was delightfully impressed with the fresh taste of the sushi. I got one of the menus to sample everything including the sashimi and it was all good. Even purchased an extra hand roll to try that. One of the better tasting places I’ve been so far and the music was good inside too.

Not too bad. Delivery (ordered online) — rice sticky enough. Meat nice not too old not too fresh. Enjoyable.
