Subway

This Subway is pretty good by American standards. It’s big and spacious, well-​lit, has high quality seating and even a free restroom for patrons, which is rare for a restaurant in a busy tourist area. I go to Subway when I want to experience some nostalgia over my cubicle farm days, and this one produces the exact same sandwiches that I had for lunch in the basement of many Chicago skyscrapers. Good times.

Subway is kind of like most chains, for the most part you know what to expect. But this spot, in a hugely touristy area near Rembrandplein, is pretty, it’s clean, and it’s even big enough for a dozen or so people to size down without being cramped.
I went here for work to get two platters. I called ahead and spoke to a man who said that was all fine and just to come in 5 minutes before I needed them and it would only take that long to make. Apparently this was not passed along to the ladies working who looked shocked to see that they had to make two platters. They worked very quickly as there was nobody else in the restaurant at the time. A couple people came in while they were making mine, but they handled everything very well.
The lady even asked if I wanted to have the normal toppings, add some, or take away some. I even was given the choice of sauces. I thought that was really nice of her!
In about 15 minutes, even with other customers, we were out of there. Very friendly service which was especially evident since they were caught by surprise!
