On our final morning in Amsterdam, we wandered in to this branch of starbucks, as it was right by our hotel, and I noticed a sign outside that said ‘Speculaas Latte’ — I LOVE Speculaas biscuits(known as biscoffi to my fellow brits), so the thought of a speculaas latte took me straight inside! Once I ordered however, I was asked if I wanted a toffee nut or gingerbread latte… this confused me so I asked where the speculaas was! According to the barista, starbucks just use the word ‘speculaas’ for their christmas lattes… pretty misleading to me, but I didn’t mind, perhaps it all got lost in translation! I opted for the gingerbread latter, and whilst it was tasty, it wasn’t what I’d hoped for. You can buy speculaas spread now in the shops in the UK so maybe I will attempt to make my own version at home!

Happy to see another Starbucks with a unique look! This one is quite small, but like what they’ve done with the interior with a relaxing, green feel to match the Flower Market. They also have a small café tables in the front. It’s a bit hidden, but you’ll find it right behind the tulip stand at the beginning of Singel across from the Albert Heijn.
