This place is pretty. Marble walls and floor, chandeliers… then you see a picture of topless people looking down at you which tells you it isn’t a hoity toity type of restaurant. Get a table and wave to a server to get a menu. Wave again when you’re ready. Wave when you want something. Wave when you’re done and want the check. Don’t expect a server to check on you and ask how everything is. This is the system for most if not all restaurants in Europe. To complain about bad service is ridiculous. Only in the US will you experience having your mouth full and a server asks you«how’s your food? Did it come out alright? Anything else I can get for you?» This place is always packed for lunch and dinner. The food we got was pretty good. Gerookte Zalm: Open-faced sandwich with smoked salmon, scrambled eggs, and truffle. Simple but delish! 4⁄5 Gerookte Ribeye: Rare ribeye open-faced sandwich with greens, capers, tomatoes and onions. A safe option but good nonetheless. 4⁄5

I’m generally here meeting a group of people for drinks. When it’s warm it’s nice to sit on the terrace to eat, drink and people watch. It’s a nice location next to a large outdoor area full of tables for the restaurants lining the edges of the area. It also faces Leidseplein square with its collection of restaurants lining it. This is a busy area to say the least. There are tons of tourists everywhere. They have a restaurant area that offers lunch and dinner. They also have a full bar. It’s a large area inside so there’s space for lots of people. The service isn’t great but that’s just how it is. Be thankful when you do get service.

Very poor service. I was here on 7÷19÷13 and was overlooked while others who arrived after me were waited on before me. The table next to me was waited on and served before my order was even taken. Maybe it had something to do with the fact that I was a woman sitting alone. It took more than 15 minutes to get a beer. I don’t mind relaxed service, but I do mind being ignored. Not recommended.

Been here about 3 times: Drinks, Lunch and Dinner. A good place for: — non expensive business lunches and — coffee and pie with mum — glass of wine with friends or — pre-concert dinner

This looks like a primary spot to get dinner before going to the theatre. We went for lunch on a Friday. The décor was nice and there was plenty of seating available. The menu was a simple mix of mostly European standards. They had run out of my first choice(kobe sliders), so I had a croque madame and fries. The food was definitely good, but I wouldn’t go there twice on a short visit. Most of the service was prompt, but we had to get up to find the waiter and get the check. IIRC, prices were about 7 – 10 € per dish.
