Le Pub Leidseplein

Especialmente pela localização, pelas mesas ao lado de fora e pela experiencia de comer e beber algo de frente pra praça… Em dias de clima agradável, entre abril e maio; foi uma boa experiência.

It was a friday night, 9pm and we were starving. We walked to our restaurant of choice to be told that they had a 2.5 hour waiting list! We decided to find somewhere else to dine. Walking down the streets near Leidseplein is like walking down a vendor’s market in Mexico or Morrocco. The streets are lined with «salespeople» trying to convince you to eat at their restaurants… It is annoying and overwhelming. I just wanted to read the menus but was constantly being harrassed. The patios were swarming with people. The patios were full to the brink. In the end I just felt like grabbing a sandwich to go and taking it back to my room to eat in peace and quiet. Then the «Le Pub Leidseplein» appeared, like a mirage before our starving eyes! No salesperson to harass us, a tempting menu and to top it off a lovely patio perfectly situated above the crowd! The staff was so nice! We were told that no one was on the patio due to the chillyness but if we wanted to eat there, we were more than welcome to. They told us that if we got cold, they would move us to a table inside. While we ate, customers came outside twice to smoke, they were politely told by the staff to move to the end of the patio so the smoke would not bother us during our meal! Wow!!!
What a wonderful dining experience! We had the entire patio to ourselves on a crazy, friday night! The food was spectacular! …Waldorf salad, prawns, escargot, filet mignon and a bottle of St-​Emilion Grand Cru… for a total of 105Euros Great service, great food, great location and great price! A total winner for us!

3 floors of excellent food and views. The food is evenly priced and very good quality. If you sit upstairs you have a birds eye view of the Leidseplein. The staff are very friendly and talkative and helpful with choosing the best of the menu. All around fabulous place to go for dinner. We will go back.

This has an amazing view of the plaza and the entertainment going on there each evening. I think it’s far better than eating on the plaza below and the food is definitely worth it as well. I think the manager is French, but don’t hold that against this place. The steaks are great and the prices are not bad either by European standards. I would definitely come back here again if for no other reason than to see those kids spin around on their heads again. That’s just great!
