This is a spot I’ve been a few times for after-​work drinks. So I have not had any food yet. Great atmosphere and great location for those working at the De Beurs van Berlage and the perfect place to chat it up. Just grab one of the tall round tables with a group of 5 and make an evening out of it! There will probably be a wine and beer list on the table so you can quickly decide what you want to drink. Service is pretty quick and friendly too!

Hubby and I went there twice during our short stay in Amsterdam. We really loved their veggie burgers and I was partial to the Lindeboom Venloosch Alt. Great little atmosphere and a nice place to sit and relax over lunch during a busy day sightseeing.

Heffer is a great little spot on the edge of the Red Light district. The décor is pretty amazing in and of itself and I’ve always found the staff to be pretty warm. I’ve had the lighter fare, which is about what you might expect from the place (sort of average café food) and it seems a little more appropriate for lunch rather than dinner if you plan on coming to eat.
I’ve been to Amsterdam three times and I always frequent the Heffer while there, but I will say that on my most recent visit (this week), it’s become a trendier, less quaint spot. If you want a quiet refuge during the week, I’d say this is a wonderful place to go, but private parties (and bachelor parties) can make it a little raucous on the weekends.
