Another «you get what you pay for» hotel. I’ve been staying here for over 20 years and it’s fine. Rooms are small and functional and the bathrooms barely exist. Breakfast is very nice however and the harried staff are patient and friendly. Popular with large families on a budget it seems. Book early, fills up fast.

My husband and I stayed here in 2011. I agree with the other reviews that the rooms were nothing to be excited about. They were small and so were the beds. However the price was very reasonable, considering we were in central Amsterdam. The hotel is overlooking a canal, and there is so much to do in walking distance. Also, I thought the staff was very nice. I would stay here again.

This hotel is AWFUL. Staff were untrained, often unresponsive, often rude. (Yes, there were some really nice staff, but the rude ones outweighed the rest). The rooms smelled. When I complained and asked for another room, the desk staff said I’d have to wait till the next day. And when I did, that staff person lost her temper with me. WiFi didn’t work half the time. I would not recommend this hotel. Nope, not going back there, ever.

In easy walking distance to Centraal Station and room had canal view, but that’s where the good ends. Highly over-​priced for what you get. Small room, small bathroom that has open style glass wall so make sure to put a towel down on the floor. Room was clean though. Breakfast was okay. I found having to turn in the room key every time I left to be a minor annoyance.

Dark, slightly dingy rooms. Blasé staff. Great location; good breakfast.
Maybe better if you get rooms at the front of the building.
Do not ask dining advice from staff! They apparently don’t know the area; as they steered me very badly 3 times. There’s great food in the area, the hotel staff just don’t know or don’t care!
The cold cuts for breakfast were great quality.
For the area, I don’t think this place is unreasonable, but don’t get too excited!

Close to Centraal Station and pretty much within walking distance to the city center. Or you can catch trams at the station. Room and beds were comfortable and clean although the bath could use a little updating. The plus was a lovely canal view. The staff are informative and really nice. Breakfast buffet awesome. Would stay here again.
