A Thai woman in my kruipclub told me that this was her favorite non-super-expensive Thai restaurant in Amsterdam. So I checked it out with some quick take out, and while I liked the food, I wish it had more flavor. It hits the right flavor notes, I just wish the flavor was louder. Thai Tiger has much more intense flavor but they charge almost twice as much for the same food. Plus they always have to make my favorite dish, panang shrimp, as a special request, and always tell me how much of a favor they’re doing by making it, and this place just has it on the menu. This place has a lot of things on the menu that I haven’t seen at other Thai places, so they get bonus points for diversity. I think I’ll stick to this place as more of my everyday Thai restaurant, since it’s more flavorful than Thailicious but it doesn’t break the bank like Thai Tiger.

Best Thai restaurant in Amsterdam! Large portions, great dishes, reasonable prices, and good service. Unlike most other places in this city. The chef even makes traditional dishes that are NOT on the menu if asked.

An authentic Thai restaurant that makes dishes that hit the spot. After being met with blank stares when I asked a more well known restaurant if they can make Pad See Ew earlier, I wasn’t surprised when the waitress here kindly said they don’t serve it. What did surprise me was that moments later, she comes back saying the Chef can make it but just with different noodles. The fact that she took the time to ask and the fact that the Chef was innovative enough to make one of the most basic and common dishes out there overwhelmed me with nostalgia of the customer service I took for granted back in the states. If you want to eat legit Thai food — the kind that a grandma would whip up in her own kitchen — take the little trek east and check out this joint.

Good food but the prices are outrageous. You would think that I’d be used to Amsterdam prices but now, but when I went here I had some serious sticker shock. Everything I tried though was pretty good, so I’ll most likely be back when my craving for Thai food overcomes my wallet’s cries of despair.
