Given the number of low ratings for service, including mine, you’d think the owners could get their act together.

I’ve been sitting for 20 minutes with no service. There are 5 waiters and waitresses sitting around doing nothing. Terrible service.

We had the large combination (hot & cold) as well as additional oysters and some of the lobster soup. Excellent, not cheap.

Worth a visit! I went with a friend visiting from out of town, but I’ll be going back quite often now. We split one of the large seafood platters (more than enough for the two of us) but I noticed you can get sandwiches or salads for under $ 20. I’ll predict I’ll end up at the bar and having a meal on my own there whenever the urge for good seafood strikes me.
Great service. Terrace out from if you want it, tons of searing inside.

We neglected to make a reservation so we joined this pretty long waiting list. The staff was amazing. No matter how many times I asked where we were on the list they never made us feel like we were a nusuance.
The food was over the top delicious. We started with a prawn tempura starter which was so good. Followed by grilled salmon and fillet of sole entrees. All the main dishes came with dinner fries, a salad and warm French bread. The food and the experience made for a perfect evening. We actually went back a second night.

The food was fresh, plentiful, and delicious; however the service left a lot to be desired. Our waitress was blatantly on her phone while we were dining. We had to ask for the check, more napkins, etc… This was our first dinner in Amsterdam, I am hoping tomorrow night we make a better choice.

Unilocalers were spot on once again. The Crowne Plaza concierge folks gave this a huge recommendation as well and was right. The server Jesse couldn’t do enough for us from the time he greeted us. The fish was all fresh and delicious. Took my wife here and we had one of those recommended platters. This had all of the cold fish on it. The crab salad was to die for. Best ever. If you are looking for the ultimate seafood place with an award winning staff, you owe it to yourself to check this place out. Enjoy!!!

Perfect experience. The place is huge and bright. The appetizers were great and the seafood platter was more than enough for my girlfriend and me.
Wait staff was nice and cheerful.

If you go to Amsterdam, you should not miss this place. They have the most amazing food. It is a little pricey (we paid EUR 136 for the combo platter for 2 and a bottle of wine), but worth every penny. The restaurant has its own fish market in the middle, and the service is top notch. Have to say the place was packed on Saturday night, but we got there just before pick hour so got a table very fast.
The menu is very diverse, but if you want to try a little bit of everything, the combo platter is the best. This includes the hot and cold platter. My favorite was the hot lobster and of course, the cold oysters. Fabulous place for fish lovers!
Definitely will go back again next time when in Amsterdam.

GREAT fresh seafood at this place! We got the cold platter and it was more seafood than we can eat and such a variety. The chardonnays they serve are also very nice an the freshly baked bread. Staff is nice and constantly cleaning to make sure you have the best experience. A true seafood heaven at this place!!!

Seafood heaven for a price. I had the mixed grill and the fritto misto… both well worth it. Über fresh and delicious. Service/​staff/​ambiance are excellent.
Make a reservation for dinner as it gets packed, but lunch walk-​ins are also a good bet.
It could use a better beer selection, but their locally brewed white beer is great.
I recommend this place to everyone and will definitely come back if I’m in town.

Sans réservation et avec une petite file d’attente nous avons pu partager un super repas dans cet endroit bien agencé et proche de tous. Si vous êtes de passage dans le coin faite y un tour pour apprécier les produit frais de la mer du nord serveur souriant et sympas

Wow! Das hab ich gedacht als ich hier reingekommen bin! Was ein geiler Laden! Und den hab ich durch Zufall entdeckt weil es anfing zu regnen und wir schnell irgendwo rein wollten um was kleines zu Essen.
Hier gibt es bestimmt 300 Sitzplätze und gleich 2 Seafood-​Theken, die sowas von reich bestückt sind wie ich es eigentlich nur aus San Francisco oder New York kenne — einfach mega!
Die Bar scheint eine ziemlich szenige Location zu sein was das Publikum angeht. Es ist ja auch sehr szenig eingerichtet und die Preise sind auch nicht ohne.
Leider hatten wir nur wenig Hunger und wollten einen kleinen Mittagssnack. Ich nahm ein Lachs Ceviche und meine Freundin einen Salat mit Mango und Gambas. Beides war lecker.
Nächstes Mal will ich unbedingt nochmal hin und eine der großen Seafood-​Platten essen und nen schönen Vino dazu trinken.

Pretty pricy but totally worth the experience. The food is so fresh that you can still think this fish swims on your plate!
The interior is grand. The waiter takes you to the fish market in the middle of the restaurant where you pick the catch of the day. Then it arrives, quite promptly, with garnish.
If you are looking for some great seafood in Amsterdam, this is the place!

BEST SEAFOOD RESTAURANT EVER! We had the grilled seafood mix platter and the serving is so generous. The seasoning is great and the freshness was definitely not compromised! The staff were very prompt, friendly and helpful.
Definitely a MUST GO if you are in Amsterdam.

The Sea bar offers a wide menu of sea food, served with fries and salad. The food has lot’s of flavor and there is no doubt that you will enjoy it. It is a perfect way to end a week and get into the weekend mode.
In terms of beverages they serve alcoholic cocktails like G&T but also beer, wine and soft drinks.
The place is very centrally located so very easy to find. The big Windows, the lights inside and the whole styling make the place feel posh yet super chill. Worth a visit!

This is a cool spot. I came here with a friend on a Wednesday night. My friend made reservations the night before which was a good thing cause the place was packed.
As soon as we were seated, we were given a complimentary basket of bread with butter. I decided to have the whole seabass and my friend opted for the sole. Both came with potatoes and a small salad. The seabass was stuffed with fresh rosemary sprigs. We both enjoyed our meals. They were simple but tasty and fresh. For dessert, we shared a lemon meringue pie. It was yummy.
Staff was friendly and the décor is pretty neat too: modern, light and simple. The fresh ‘fish market’ in the restaurant is great to look at! A great night with great food. Definitely recommend.

Plethora of fresh seafood fit for King Neptune himself! Service was superb. Food was fabulous and atmosphere was point on for the type of fish house they are trying to create. Great place, always crowded!

When the thing to eat is pickled herring and one of the main method of transportation is by boat, you’d think seafood would be a good bet in Amsterdam. And boy, Seafood Bar is definitely a good place for it.
We got the 1 person portion for the grilled platter and the cold platter respectively. HOMG, were the platters big or what. So unless you are big eater or a pig, share your platters.
The grilled platter came with a small salad and bowl of frites. It was doused in tomato-​based sauce and came with 2 mayo-​based dipping sauces. It had mussels, a few grilled king prawns, 2 types of grilled fish (salmon and cod methinks), a whole fried sardine, a calamari on a stick, 3 fried shrimps on a stick.
The cold platter came with a mayo-​based sauce and a shallot+vinegar based one (I stuck with this for all my dipping). IT came with calms, razor clams, mussels, cockles, 2 kinds of sea snails (requiring a push-​pin type tool to pull out the meat), boiled shrimp, crab salad.

What keeps me coming back, you ask, Unilocal?
Oh, yes: FISH & CHIPS.
I have tried ordering different things, but I came here four times already and ordered only fish and chips (Lekkerbek, Kabeljauw and Fritto Misto among them). That’s how good it is! The batter is delicious, light and not at all soggy with oil, and their chips… oh dear, the chips. They’re just perfect.
Luckily, my husband is a more adventurous person so he has ordered a variety of sea food here already (like the mussels or the coquille’s ceviche with tequila and orange juice), they were all amazing as well.
The ambience in super modern and trendy, a huge difference from the «stuck in early 90s» décor from the previous restaurant at this location (a Japanese place called Tokyo Café): everything is white, bright and beautiful. Because of that, I kinda expected the wait staff to be a bit arrogant when I first came here, but they’re quite the opposite. They have always been very friendly and helpful. Once we came in 8 people on a Friday evening, the place was full, but they managed to find us a table in only 15min. I was totally blown away by how quick it was!
A great spot for dinner with friends, or even a romantic date. 5 stars of awesomeness!

The original tiny Seafood Bar is so successful that it recently opened this sister restaurant on Spui in Centrum Amsterdam. It has lots of al fresco seating as well as plenty of indoor bar seating. The dining room goes way back. It’s deceivingly huge, yet every table was filled during weekday dinner.
The long raw and ceviche bar was stuffed with a variety oysters, clams and other shellfish. The dining area displayed loads of fresh fish and shellfish varieties on ice as if you were at a fishmonger. So many choices!
We started with 6 Fines de Normandie oysters and 6 Gillardeau oysters from Utah Beach and Charente-​Maritime. The Gillardeau were the best oysters I’ve eaten in years and worth the extra cost.
My razor clams appetizer was cooked to perfection. A whole pile of them on a plate!
What blew me away was the Seafood Mixed Grill which was chef’s choice. Chef chose well! Lobster, clams, cockles, scallops, tiger prawns, shrimp, whole sardines, salmon, other fish… I was so glad I switched my order at the last second and copied my friend Hugo D who has been here 3 times.
I forgot the name of French white wine we had but it was excellent and complimented our meal.
Service was excellent as well. The staff seemed to sense when we needed them, and would tag team and come even though the place was very busy.
The Seafood Bar is definitely a great addition to the area. I’d say it is my favorite seafood restaurant in Amsterdam. I just hope the tourist masses don’t discover it for awhile!
