Nothing was really classical about the place. We came for team business lunch at noon to an empty restaurant. We were greeted, seated and ordered daily lunch selection from mainly pasta dishes. And guess what — food came 50min later and pasta was drowning in oil… Not going back there ever again.

We came here looking for the Moroccan joint but it was gone. In its place was an Italian eatery. Having had Italian two nights in a row we were reluctant to enter. To his credit the Patron did not pressure us in, but in we went kids in tow. Haute Cuisine it was not, but it was very good and whatever they lost in sophistication they made up for in enthusiasm. The beef carpaccio was a good starter. The kids enjoyed a pasta pomodoro … with exquisite fresh parmesan straight from the round. We had spaghetti vongole and the ravioli. Both were some of the best we’ve had. The vongole had a complex flavor, not just oil and too much salt as is so often the case. The tiramisu was exceptional. Have I praised it enough? No? How about the entertainment of our daughter? Flower, kitchen tour? Front row seat for a flambé in the cheese round?(for a fungi pappardelle that we did not try). All in all a good meal. Tomorrow? Chinese!
