Love this place. Cozy corner restaurant with nice staff. Went twice this week. The pastas are excellent. Try the chicken Diablo appetizer — best sauce I’ve ever had. Just a great local place with excellent food and friendly people. My favorite.

Delicious food. Had the bitterballen and the tapas mix combo. It was so good! This place is like an oddly delicious fusion of Spanish(authentic tapas), Italian(pasta and paninis), and Dutch(bitterballen anyone?). The staff was also very friendly and and we were treated really well. 5 out of 5 stars, definitely recommended.

Mediterranean seafood soup was ok. Fish pieces in the soup were extremely overcooked and salty. Olives with a tartar sauce were delish. Service was incredibly slow though very cordial. Not great for solo travelers. Felt like a second class citizen here. Mostly ignored.

Cosy restaurant on a corner just minutes away from the Museums. Food is great and the menu is big and tasty — pastas, soups, and especially the plato gallego, a mix of calamars, ham, lamb burgers with onions and humus, delicious. Service is also nice and friendly, and if you can sit outside on a sunny day this place could actually make your day!

This unassuming restaurant has a range of solid and large Italian dishes that will satisfy you after a day of visiting nearby museums or Vondel Park. The pasta dishes start with the simple spaghetti with meat sauce and progress through more complex and nuanced dishes that include seafood or cream sauces. It appears to be a favorite with locals as well as tourists, and reservations are recommended as it fills up quickly. Service was attentive and excellent.

Truly delicious fresh pasta! The ravioli and stuffed pastas were especially delicious with generous portions, although the linguine was a little dense. The area is a little touristy, but Pompa feels cozy and comfortable. They seemed a little overwhelmed by the crowd, however, and we had to ask for side plates and re-fill of water a couple of times.

Just happened to stop here for lunch– everything was delicious, love the atmosphere. Tried the veggie and tuna carpaccio panini, tomato soup, salmon salad and shrimp. The olives that come with the panini are delicious and the espresso is superb. Very happy we stopped here!

Ok not fantastic, waitress was cordial but not warm. As the meal progressed she became very sweet and charming. I’d stop here again for more chicken and frites.

Well, waitress lost it on me and refused to serve coffee, because I said«Hi, can I get a latte?» and not«good morning, can I have a latte PLEASE». Will I be back? Don’t think so. Do I recommend this place? Maybe not.

Two minute walk from the Van Gogh Museum. Quality food, large portions, delicious bread, nice service. English menu available. Reasonable prices. They don’t rip you off by pushing over priced bottled water. Ask for tap water. Wifi info posted in plain sight on the chalk board.

Steps away from the Van Gogh Museum, a perfect place to refuel after a grueling tour of Amsterdam’s fabulous museums. There is outdoor seating for a beautiful Spring day. The best thing here are the tapas: don;t miss the Prawns in olive oil, swimming in the best sauce I’ve tasted in a while, so good we had to ask for more bread to wipe off every drop of it. The tuna carpaccio, fried sardines, lamb in gravy, mussels in red sauce and calamari rounded out our mid-afternoon pig out. Washed down with some fresh Heineken on tap.

Cute and quaint spot for lunch near the museums. We had a panini and a burger but the pasta dishes looked excellent. Friendly and attentive service. Good prices for the portions.

We sort of stumbled on this, in search of another lunch spot. It was busy on a Friday afternoon, but we found a spot outside. (Only to move back inside after 20 min due to some rain. Wuss, i know…) We had pasta, very recommendable(in an italian place, go figure…) and stayed there for about 3 hours. Had to be annoying for the restaurant not to be able to have it occupied by new guests but we were not rushed in any way, not by the staff nor by our own agenda ;) The waitress was ever so friendly, the other staff members were not so cheerful but nevertheless helpful. 3* because i want to find out if dinner is as pleasant as well. To be continued :)

What a great find! Late after an 8pm Van Gogh Museum entry, we could hardly find an open restaurant. Fortunately, Pompa was open and we were seated and served just before closing. Pompa is Italian but has tapas and other misc Mediterranean cuise. Pastas and other plats were great. Taste, value and price were on target. Service was friendly and prompt because they were anxious to close up, but even so they never rushed us.

My wife and I dropped by here for coffee accidentaly one day just to come back again and again for several days. On some days, we actually had breakfast and dinner here. The restaurant is very recommendable, the wines are very good, same is the food. We were especially happy about the many light dishes that were offered for vegetarians.
