We happened upon this restaurant by accident while headed back to our apartment on Saturday evening. Thought it looked cute and the menu posted outside looked good and sounded like authentic Italian food. WOW, was it ever! I believe this tiny place only has 22 seats. There is the chef and the sweet, knowledgable and helpful waitress, and that’s the only staff. You will dine here, with the courses being nicely spaced out. There is a small but nice and reasonably priced wine list. Delicious Barbara selected with the help or our server. The black rice risotto with chunks of fresh Bronzino and marscapone was to die for as a main course. Can’t even describe how this dish melts in your mouth. It was made from scratch, and the wait was totally worth it! My friend had pesce in a broth that was an appetizer portion, but plenty to eat with super fresh chunks of shellfish etc in a sublimely perfect broth. Do yourself a favor, find this restaurant and settle in for meal like you are in someone’s home!

Ein italienisches Restaurant, das von einem Koch und einer Servicekraft geführt wird. Das Lokal hat kaum mehr als 15 Plätze, was es sehr heimelig und intim macht. Die offene Küche, in der man dem Koch bei jedem Handgriff zusehen kann, fand ich sehr ansprechend — als würde man Zuhause neben dem Herd stehen und bei der Zubereitung seines eigenen Gerichts zuschauen, sehr authentisch!

Einziger Abzug betrifft die Servicekraft, die bei kompletter Belegung des Lokals wirklich sehr überfordert war und wir sie mehrfach erinnern mussten, dass wir zahlen wollen. Dennoch: ihre Herzlichkeit verlor sie bei all dem Stress nicht!

Expensive. This is the only reason why I don’t give 5 stars. Food is amazing and cooked with love. Very warm welcome and good wine selection.

Absolutely fantastic food. Out of this world, excellent, excellent. Thoughtful and attentive service.
But leave your American schedule /​impatience at the door… this will not be fast. Expect to spend a large chunk of your evening here… and it will be worth every minute.
If you can relax and be patient, it will be worth it. It is some of the best food you’ll ever have.

Get there early. When the fresh ingredients are done the dish comes off the board. Great, fresh Italian made by a real Italian chef. It’s a small 2 person operation, Chef and waiter. He only makes a few different dishes each night. So the choices are limited but each is outstanding. place gets very busy. Every table was filled. Relax and wait it’s worth it. Make sure you save room for desert

Absolutely one of the best Italians in town. The place even looks Italian! Which means the first time you look through the window, you would not give the place a second thought with so many ‘hip’ places interior wise in Amsterdam. But it does look like many places in Italy, not to cosy. Although once you are inside and seated, you get used to it and the food is absolutely great! It is not a quick in-​and out, so sit back and enjoy the full evening.
