It looks closed! Yes I went by tonight. 18÷3÷15 and it definitely looked closed. Closed. The lights are out. The door is locked. The place has been gutted on the inside. There seems to be a new place coming.

Having recently moved to Amsterdam from North America, it’s been quite difficult to find really good pizza. I arrived at Pink Flamingo without any expectations and after seeing a set menu, I was a bit skeptical. All of that changed after my first bite. The home style tomato sauce was perfectly created and the crust was a thing of art; thin, crispy, cooked to perfection. If you are in the mood for artisan pizza(not New York style) then you owe it to yourself to stop by Pink Flamingo.

Over-priced and not particularly good. We wandered into this place when it was dead empty in the late afternoon. The menu is creative and unique, but to a degree that we found a little over the top. None of us could find something on the menu without some weird ingredient or other that we didn’t like. But what the hell, we ordered anyway. We got three pizzas, and when we were served, we were told that one of them had been delayed a minute. I finally got it 20 minutes later, when my companions were just about finished eating. Again, the place was completely deserted except for us. None of us thought our pizzas tasted particularly good, though the crust was very nice. It was very bland, I had to slather mine in chili oil to make it taste like something. At the end of the day, for three rather disappointing pizzas and a few soft drinks, we spent about € 50. We could’ve had much better food, and more of it, elsewhere for less money. If you’re in a gambling mood, maybe give it a shot, but if you’re really hungry, I wouldn’t recommend it.

Oh, hello sexy pizza… how YOU doin’. I’d been hearing about PF for a while from those whose tastebuds I feel are of superior standards. Last night, German friend in tow, I ventured to the cavernous hole in the wall feel of this fine establishment, belly growling and enthusiastic as all get-up. That’s when I wanted to slap my mama and scream out for joy.(Note: I would never slap my mama, she’s tough, cute and mama’s should be treated with much respect.) We had the hummus/eggplant pizza as well as the baba ganoush pizza. SOFREAKINGGOOD. Seriously. These pizzas are outrageous and definitely a step above typical pizzas. This coming from a gal who prides herself on not loving pizza. I can now say I love pizza. Oh, and the vibe here is cool. Good wine. Nice beer. Good music. Is it wrong to want to go back today for more?

This is as good as it gets. Writing this review and thinking about this place is making me hungry. Pink Flamingo is my favorite pizza place in Amsterdam. Their style isnt very italian or tradional but they do have very amazing and creative pizzas! Pizzas have names like ‘The Obama’ or ‘Baba Ganoush’. Everything is delicious! The interior of the restaurant is really cool. Rock and roll style with lots of pink en black. The flamingo lamps are awesome! Prices for pizzas are around 13 euros. Definately worth it. You can order your pizza here also, but they only deliver in the direct neighborhood since they deliver by bike. In the summer you should order your pizza at the counter, you’ll get a balloon and then you can go to the Sarphati park. They will bring your pizza! :)

Tucked in the Pijp, its worth the ride down for the most unique pizzas in Amsterdam. With their own bottle of house brew, it’s a nice addition to the unconventional ingredients you’ll find on your pie. The unanimous winner of the night was the Ho Chi Minh with chicken and gambas marinated in green curry and coconut sauce with crushed peanuts. I seem to be on a good streak with service in the city as the staff made it a nice evening overall. Priced between 10 – 15 €, I’d say great for a relaxed weeknight to go share a few pizzas and beers.

Pizza concept brought to Amsterdam from a popular Paris chain. These pizzas are different, but exciting and yummy. For example, the pizza with Gorgonzola, figs and ham was delicious. The selection ranges from green curry pizza to hummus veggie pizza to steak pizza. A cosy atmosphere that allows for table or bar seating. Very reasonably priced compared to other pizza places in Amsterdam. Expect to wait a little while for your pizza, but sit back, relax and enjoy a beer while you wait for your one of a kind pizza, and look at the pink flamingos!
