The service was terrible, and the tomato soup too, the pizza wa good however, not the best place

Rude wait staff, to the point where the waiter actually rolled his eyes at me for asking about the Zuppe de Pesce. I asked what fish was in the soup. Apparently, they’re not accustomed to culinary questions. The meal was blah, I skipped the Soup and ordered a chicken dish and my daughter ordered a pasta dish. Other patrons simply order a pizza between 5 people; beers, no tip and they’re out the door. Wouldn’t return.

The pizzas and pasta dishes are tasty and relatively inexpensive for Amsterdam. My favorite is the spinach popeye. My girlfriend likes the chicken with Alfredo sauce on pasta shells. She wasn’t enamored with the sand dabs, they were a bit small and boney … But tasty. We’ve also enjoyed the mushrooms as appetizers… And to put on the pizza. This is a large place so it’s easy to get a table. And the price is right!

It’s nothing special, just cheap food that’s decent. The wine was barely drinkable and the fish didn’t look like Seabass at all. I felt bad for the waiters as they looked really tired. I suggest going for the pizza or pasta. The price you pay for other dishes could probably get you better food elsewhere. The place’s fine to grab some food by the canal, around the corner from de Pijp’s red light district.

After a long day of market hopping, we found this fantastic pizza restaurant down the street from the Albert Cuyp market. We ordered #39– the veggie pizza, with red/green peppers, artichokes, black olives and capers. The crust was thin and crispy, and the pizza was not overloaded with cheese like many American pizzas are. It was served with two small side dishes of olive oil and garlic, and an olive oil with hot peppers that we lightly poured over the pizza. It was delicious. The combination of flavors were wonderful. We shared one pizza which was sufficient, but a big appetite could easily finish one alone. Service was efficient and friendly and food was not overpriced. We will return before our vacation is over, for sure!

by the way, the pizza(the big full ones) are cheap there — about 6 euros which is cheap for a sit-in pizzeria in Amsterdam Centrum!!!
