This is an entirely charming place, quiet, with lots of character, and an enthusiastic waitstaff who clearly adore food and telling customers all about it. The menu is a «surprise»: We committed to three courses and received a wonderful cured salmon starter, a selection of pork(including offal) main course, and then split a cheese plate(excellent) and a pumpkin-based dessert(average). Our only complaints were the hidden charges: We thought we were«invited» to have four oysters(and then were charged € 12), and we weren’t told that € 4 would be added to the set price for the cheese plate.

Talk about surprise and delight! We were ever so lucky to nab a table on a busy busy Friday evening and even though we were a tad loud(read: drunk), this small fine dining restaurant was exactly what we needed! As you’re walking in. you wonder if you’ve stumbled into a completely different realm. It was small, big enough only for around 25 seats but it feels warm and welcoming, with great mood lighting. The staff were attentive and nothing was too much to ask. We ended choosing 3 courses with extra oysters to start and matching wines. Starting with bubbly to match the oysters, white wine to match the entrée of mackerel, then red to match the main meat dish, and to finish– a sweet dessert wine with some sweet dessert. All of the sweetness was topped with grated chestnut, that had every person licking their plates clean. Even though we were a rather large and boisterous group, everyone was attended to and looked after. I was also watching the staff interact with the other tables(big and small) and they too looked as at ease as we did. All in all, it was the perfect Friday night find. I just hope I can remember to stumble into this little hot spot again with a bit more purpose(read: less drunk)!

Fantastic food! Very nice staff and our 3 course menu was a like a little party! The duck with pumpkin was delicious. The flavours we received were very very pleasant. Will definitely come back!

Enjoyed this lovely restaurant. It’s the sister restaurant to JOHANNES which is under construction and so chef Albert was cooking at this location. I decided to try this restaurant out for my birthday. I enjoyed a four course meal there with oysters to start and they didn’t disappoint. Their duck entrée and tuna tartare fish with caviar were my favorite. I loved the Chilean wine they served too and although cute inside it was warm/stuffy inside do I sat outside instead and enjoyed the evening. I recommend this place for foodies. Enjoy if you make it over!

On a quiet Monday night, we made our way to Juuls. I had requested a private table in my online reservation and they sat us in a little corner by ourselves. The servers were very friendly and attentive. They don’t have a menu, so it’s always a surprise menu and you can choose between 3, 4, or 5 courses. We went with 3 courses and had the extra request that we don’t get the same dishes so we can try 6 different things. Every meal, including the amose bouche, was creative, visually beautiful, and super tasty!!! Our main courses were a truffle stuffed guinea fowl with lentils and a white fish in beurre blanc with a potato cake and both had very interesting and flavorful sauces and tiny veggies. Hmmmmmm, I wish I had more tiny veggies to eat right now…
