I’ve hit this place twice now, and both times have ordered phở and an ice tea. The phở broth the first time was mediocre, and only improved adding some sriracha and other spices myself. The second time I came back, the broth had greatly improved. I am a HUGE fan of Vietnamese food and can eat phở and bun dishes all the live long day, so I was glad there are some places in Amsterdam to check out, including this one. I wouldn’t say this place is amazing, but it is not half bad either. Staff is very friendly and attentive. They were also very concerned whether the food was good or not. I definitely think they want to continue to improve upon their dishes, so I will continue to go back. The place is clean, however with the open kitchen, it can get super warm and muggy at times.

The friend I went out to dinner with kept raving about this place. Vietnamese street food and she goes there almost every week. It was good. But not thát good. I had the noodle soup with shreds of beef and beef balls. The broth was pretty tasty with a touch of cinnamon to it. But to me it lacked a bit of depth flavorwise. Beware: I like BIG and HUGE flavors. So this could be just my messed up pallet. The staff was very nice, but seemed in a rush, although it was not very crowded. The place is pretty small, which makes it cosy. I like that. I have to say: I will go back, so three stars might seem random and a bit low. But it’s nice food, served and cooked by nice people on a nice spot, in a nice street. Sometimes nice is good enough. If you like your flavors a bit more subtle, you can’t go wrong here. Oh! The spring rolls were very good and made with very fresh vegetables. Loved those!

This is standard Vietnamese offerings. We go there because it is in our neighborhood, good enough, and reasonably priced. We like the spring rolls, and get the phở, which is good. Occasionally they don’t have basil, which I think is important for phở. Small and cute inside. They also deliver, which is nice and convenient.

This is a review for their delivery service! Great phở! I’ve never been to the restaurant but I always order their Phở through They pack it very well and it’s delicious & fresh! They pack everything individually(meat and herbs and the soup) so you can comfortably just add what you want. I’m a big fan of the phở dac biet. It comes with rosbief and some other meat, and with meatballs too. Their delivery is super fast, and they are located in a great area that I recommend you visit if you are visiting Amsterdam.

BANHMIREVIEW: I’ve been eating Vietnamese food all up and down California, so i may have too high of expectations. However, i went in with lower expectations, and still they were not able to meet my lower expectations. The bread was so chewy, that it was hard to eat(surprising considering bread in Amsterdam has always been amazing). The veggies were flavorless, they skimped on the meat, and there was little to no shrimp aioli. The dine in experience was cramped and customer service was minimal. I would rather eat at albert hein(across the street) than here, since they have better ingredients in their take away lunch items.

Great Vietnamese food! I’ve been to Vietnam three times so feel like I know what good Vietnamese tastes like. We ate it twice during our four day trip to Amsterdam. We had the fresh spring rolls to start which tasted great, were thickly stuffed and delicious dipping sauces. The bun cha is really good. Their ban xeo was yum, a little greasy but that’s just the way it is. Phở was delicious too. And they use free range chicken so that’s always a bonus. Very small restaurant space with only a few tables.

I am only giving two stars at this point because I got my meal as take away so maybe things are better sitting in the restaurant. Not because of the service mind you, that portion was wonderful. There was just no flavor to the food. As an appetizer I got the spring rolls. They were alright but no fresh herbs inside and the big one for me, no peanut sauce?! For my main course I got the vegetarian tofu and vegetables. It was basically steamed rice, steamed vegetables and nearly inedible tofu. The tofu was a little like shoe leather. I’m not sure what happened there. The whole dish had no flavor whatsoever. No spice, no herbs and no sauce. I feel like there was no effort given. Their slogan is Vietnamese Street Food, I think street food is much much better. Time to keep searching for edible Vietnamese in the city.
