The good: The staff were really very nice, super helpful, and the breakfast was plentiful and good also(toast with lots of things for on top, cereal, yogurt, cheese, meat, fruit, coffee, tea). There are two computers with internet, including one with a printer so that you can get your boarding pass, or museum tickets, printed out — free of charge. It’s clean, the bedding is comfortable. It’s in a great neighborhood with lots of lovely restaurants and attractions to walk to. Plus — bikes! The neutral: Very steep(typically Amsterdam) stairs and it’s a walk-up. I’m okay with that, it’s just a good thing to know. You pay for your stay upon arrival. The bad: The common room is closed and locked from 11 pm — 8 am, breakfast begins at 8 am — so if you are an early riser, you’re out of luck. Also — it appears that there are NOSTAFF on the premisses after 11 pm. So basically you’re sharing a sort of house/hotel with strangers and no one in charge at night. We thought this a bit odd but didn’t mind until our second night when a very psychotic, very aggressive guy stayed in the room next to us. Brief interactions with him freaked us out earlier in the evening but it was worse when he came home drunk and yelling at his girlfriend, slammed doors, shouted in the hallway and… as women travelers — we just kept our door locked-locked-locked. Not my favorite.

I loved this place! We stayed on the 3rd floor. There was a computer with free internet access on the main floor and enough parking for at least three hundred thousand bikes. Breakfast is included. Nice and clean, affordable, convenient, quiet neighborhood. There’s a nice coffee shop just down the street on the corner.
