I honestly don’t know why this hotel is getting good reviews. I stayed there for 3 days on a business trip and will never stay there again. One of the major reasons I booked it was that it was advertised as having an in room massage. I always have back and neck problems so I was really looking forward to staying there so I could get a massage. However, when we were checking in we were informed that they don’t offer this service and there is a spa that’s a 15 minute walk and when we tried to book it it took the woman who was checking us in 10 minutes to figure out that the spa was closed on Mondays(shouldn’t they just memorize that kind of information??). Rooms are very small, even by European standards, they only offer single beds for double rooms so even though the bed itself was comfortable it was too small. Heat wasn’t working — we had to call reception every night to get them to turn it on and every night they reassured me that they will program the setting so that I wouldn’t have to call every night they never did. On our last night we came back to the room after a long day at work only to find out that our room was not even cleaned — we had to go to reception to get clean towels and they didn’t even offer an apology. Staff seems to be nice and I am sure they mean well, but they just seem to be so clueless about everything — everything they do is just inefficient. We tried to book train tickets to Eindhoven one night and after waiting for 15 minutes the reception guy informed us that actually he cannot book it because it requires a Dutch credit card and we have to buy tickets at the train station. Why didn’t he have that information? I am sure we were not the first foreigners ever to try and book train tickets!!! Wifi in our room was just terrible and since it was a business trip it meant that replying to client’s emails or getting any other computer work done was a nightmare. This was a very disappointing hotel stay. I hope they can improve this.

The Sir Albert hotel has modest rooms set in a modern décor with a twist of safari. Comfortable beds, great pillows, lovely room coffee and space to spread your toiletries. Don’t want to travel with shampoo? They provide a lovely high end brand in refillable pumps so there’s plenty on hand. The elevator is small but quaint and there are a couple of stairs to navigate but the friendly staff with help you. Breakfast is amazing and so is the food! A++ try everything here, you won’t be disappointed. Here here! Well done Sir Albert!

This hotel is awesome! We were greeted by the lovely front desk staff with glasses of prosseco. That’s basically all it takes to please me. Just give me alcohol and I will be happy. The room itself was rad and very modern. Everything was controlled by buttons and the layout of the room was awesome. There are separate stalls for the shower and toilet and that was cool. The shower was huge and had a rain fall shower heads which is always lovely. The bed, oh the bed. The bed was SUPER comfortable and big. I woke up lost within the sheets and pillows and it was fantastic. I also enjoyed being called«lady» by the TV. All in all, staying here was an extremely pleasant experience. I wish I were still there, lost in that bed.

We had such a lovely stay at Sir Albert. The staff here are exceptionally efficient and always so friendly and helpful. We immediately felt at home and relaxed. The hotel is immaculate and beautifully designed. Located in a very nice area away from all the tourist traps. Cute shops all around the Pijp area. I wouldn’t even consider staying at another hotel when coming back to Amsterdam. This was by far the best hotel of our entire holiday !!
