Crowded touristy bar in the Red Light District but is one of those bars that everyone says that you should go see, and you should. It is filled with interesting characters both local and not as well as having a great view out on to the canal to watch all of the crazies walking around outside.

It’s a nice warming pub with a beautiful«sailor”/old-navy decoration located style in the middle of the red district in Amsterdam. There is a bench outside the bar where you can seat and enjoy your beer alongside the canal. Place is very packed around 5−6pm. However, at 3.5 Euros an half pint of very cheap beer(Amstel) it looks more like a tourist trap than the other bars around.

Cool place! Although this says it isn’t wheelchair accessible, there is one 3 inch step, so in a manual chair its possible. The fiancé was able to get in by lifting his front wheels, and I just gave slight assistance from behind. The interior had a bunch of old nautical items and we had a fun time drinking a beer watching the crowds in the red light district. It was super funny watching groups walk past the Exotic museum across the canal and look all nervous or giggle about going in. Then you can even have more fun betting which ones would come out with a purchase! :) We were there about 1pm on a Sunday, so it wasn’t busy at all. If I’m ever back in Amsterdam, I’d come back here for sure!

Located in the heart of the main Red Light District, this bar is history itself. This bar is almost always crowded and yet hasn’t been at all rowdy except when national team soccer games are played. In that case, wear orange. The bathrooms always have a line for the beer renters, but there’s a public facility almost right outside where men can take a leak. Don’t worry: all the best bars seem to have them. It’s private, but just for men. Sorry, ladies. On warm summer nights, you’ll need to rehydrate after hours of gawking at the girls in the red light district. This is a great place to do it. Come early.

Another pub in Europe’s sin city, one of the better ones.

An old mariners bar in the redlight district of amsterdam. The bartenders are talking to you in a biting tone. A unique place where you can have some beer and watch the crowds passing by. In the evening this bar is crowded, especially, I think, because of the free restrooms.

Situated in the red light district, this little bar gets PACKED. The tables along the windows(and seats in front when it’s warm enough) are great for people watching and the prices are surprisingly reasonable for the area(9 euro for two Jameson’s). It’s hard to get a seat though, so go with a little bit of patience.
