Mangiamore

I’m always amazed when I see scooter riders from the large Pizza delivery chains, cheating death and scaring the life out of pedestrians on their way to provide couch potatoes with the toxic wares of their organizations.
It’s totally unnecessary to order such foul tasting junk food, when the Rivierenbuurt and the Pijp are home to one of the best Pizza places in Amsterdam, Mangiamore.
Genuine Italian pizza cooked in a wood oven. With a thin crispy base, and using fresh, (yes people fresh not out of a tin) ingredients.
The Mangiamore Pizza’s are a genuine taste of Italy. If you’re used to the delights of certain Pizza chains, you’ll be disappointed to know that Mangiamore doesn’t have chicken kebab, cheese fondue, or shoarma pizzas. What they do have however, are classic Italian pizzas such as the Quattro Stagioni, the Quattro Formaggio (four cheeses), or white truffle, rucola and parmesan cheese.
There’s no gimmicks, just freshly made tasty genuine Italian pizza, that you can also take away.
If you love pizza, or have never been to Italy and want to see what a real pizza tastes like, then you should definitely give them a try. You’ll never eat a delivery pizza from one of the large chains again.

I liked the pizza alright. The wood fired pizzas are always tasty and they have plenty of selection. The normal size is great for one person and the ½ meter is perfect for two people and having some for breakfast…
The other neat part of the place is the other Italian goods that they sell. Plenty to keep you enjoying Italian food throughout the week.
Although it is a bit on the small side, I did not stay to eat as we got the pizzas to go. I think sitting outside on a warm summer evening enjoying one of their specials would be terrific. I’ll be back for more Italian goodies.

This is a great pizza place with a real wood fired oven. Be sure to check out the wines and other goods they also sell. It’s a small spot, but if you can get a seat outside it’s pretty gezellig.
