So looking forward to having tapas because of memories from Spain, but everything here is so subpar. I could cook this better at home, but the issue is, I don’t even try to cook any of this stuff. We had 6 different tapas and all were just ok like the potatoes, calamari, lamb, and can’t even remember everything we had because it wasn’t good. The best thing on the menu is the garlic aioli that comes with the bread. The service was great and really friendly though. If only the food matched their enthusiasm… sigh… Yet another restaurant in Amsterdam unknowing of proper cooking temperatures so that food isn’t overdone. How did this place get 4 stars? Am I missing something? Only other person I agree with on this review is John. I should’ve listened to that one off review. One off reviews actually say a lot if I’d just listen ARG.

I recommend the meat sandwiches and the«empanadas». The whole menu is good and very well prepared

On an extremely rainy evening in Amsterdam, my boyfriend and I scurried around seeking shelter from the storm and warm food for our bellies. Soaking wet, cold, and hungry, we came across Madrid. BESTFINDEVER. After we tried a few bites, and enjoyed every last bit, we told Jorge that we trusted his judgment, and asked him to bring us whatever he thought we should try. The plates kept coming, and we wanted more and more. The ambiance is great, the service is perfect, and the food was amazing. In our short 6-days in Amsterdam, we went to Madrid on 3-different nights. We talk about it several times a month, and about how we can’t wait to return. We’ll be back. See you soon!

Food was very blunt and really close to be even named tasteless and although the atmosphere was super wow mostly because it was a Unilocal event I don’t believe I will pay them a visit.

Madrid is a very good place to hang out with a couple of friends. It is not a high class restaurant, which makes it great to just met there after work or so. When I was there, with a large group, we only had tapas, and these were OK on average. Some were very good(especially the mushrooms, shrimps and sausages), some were a bit less, but there was always something on the table to my liking note: I am not a seafood eater, but the shrimps were excellent!

This is a really nice looking restaurant that serves lunch and dinner and bunches of different kinds of tapas It’s a great place to go for a drink and munch on the tapas of your choice. The food and the service is good. The atmosphere and ambiance laid back, casual and comfortable. The location is easy to find too, just off of Kinkerstraat.

I went here for the first time with 2 lady friends. I came back with another girlfriend. Then a guy friend. Does it say enough that I went three times(in a month?!) I used to live in Spain; infact I moved to Amsterdam from Barcelona to be a poor student. I think I would have scrubbed the floors with a toothbrush just to smell the chorizo or naw on a sangria-laden orange slice. Its good; really good. The food. The service. The(dangerous) drinks. The manager is a lovely Chilean man who makes me feel like family every time im there. Try the queso fritto, pimentos a la plancho, chorizo, pulpo. anything. It’s a gem. Will keep going back and back and back.
