Not that atmospheric but okay to sit down and take a short break.
I’m not sure if the waiters had a really bad day at the same time, or if they’re really that unprofessional: the first one spilled the bottle of beer over the whole table and the second one dropped the dishes in the kitchen…

Das Frühstück im Café Nielsen sowie das Café ansich mit seiner sehr freundlichen Bedienung hat uns sehr gut gefallen.
Frühstückskarte hält von Eierspeisen, süßen Aufstrichen, Joghurts mit Müsli sowie herzhaften Paninis einiges bereit, sodass man wirklich etwas Leckeres findet.
Für mich gab es zwei Toast mit Butter und zwei Rührei, was gut schmeckte.
Als das Café voller wurde, war die Bedienung (trotz drei Mannstärke) sehr verlangsamt, daher einen Punkt Abzug.

Nice café with really good breakfast — it was hard to choose, because everything just sounded sooo delicious :-)
We went for the breakfast menu and it was awesome! We came back every day, especially because the serve organic food and the menu entails everything we like for breakfast (fruit, scrambled eggs with mushrooms, jam, freshly squeezed orange juice, latte macchiato).
The only thing they could improve (in terms of environmental protection) would be to serve jam and butter in small bowls to avoid the packaging waste. Especially because they take it serious to use organic food etc.

You have to question the veracity of previous reviews. This place is across the street from pancakes Amsterdam so they probably get a good percent of their business from people that don’t want to wait in line for pancakes. M
Anyways the breakfast isn’t good and way overpriced. € 10 for a bad omelette no sides no good

BEST CLUB SANDWICH EVER :) Sorry, I don’t mean to yell but this sandwich was truly something to scream about. They make a variety of club sandwiches here but don’t be tempted to try something different (chicken version with egg, etc)…go for the original: turkey, bacon, tomato and that lovely Dutch mayo. YUM

Ein Frühstück, das man nur einmal in Amsterdam findet. Man wird vom Besitzer persönlich bedient und er hat ein einmaliges freundliches Wesen. Jeder Gast wird bedient als ob man ein jahrelanger Stammgast wäre. Immer wieder gerne, denn das Essen war auch sehr liebevoll und sorgfältig zubereitet. Die Sahne im Kakao ist einmalig lecker!

The breakfast here is extraordinary. We came twice. Bagels are amazing. The bacon omelette is INSANE! So much bacon, I loved it so much. Waitstaff was very nice. Sit outside on a nice day.

Breakfast is my favorite meal of the day, even at the crack of noon when I am jetlagged. Nielsen is a great spot, friendly service, good quality ingredients, lovely neighborhood. Mix of couples, families, locals and tourists.
I had a bacon omelet with cheddar cheese. Rather liked the way they fried the bacon and baked the whole of it into the eggs. Orange juice was fresh squeezed.

a more than ideal spot for organic breakfasts a short stroll from the Dylan-​cheaper too. forget yoghurt or meusli. go for buttered eggs, thick-​crispy bacon, wentelteefjes & fresh OJ. also a cozy place to just sit there and stone with a cuppa after all the walking.
