We were looking for a good place to get burgers. We found it! Lombardo’s served a really juicy and great burger. I got the lamb burger which felt like 10minutes in heaven. Nice burger, good service and no wonder the recommendations is skyhigh.

Popped in to grab a take out meal(after flying in from Chicago jet lag has begun to set in). Wait was less than 10 minutes. I ordered a pulled pork sandwich and was pleasantly surprised — rich but not excessive. Staff was helpful and immediately attended to me. Would recommend taking meal to go and eating it along the canal — definitely a nice combo.

Wow this hole-in-the-wall place was a great find! There is only 6 seats inside the shop which easily has a line out the door around lunchtime. The best idea would be to find a spot along the canal down the block and camp out on a bench to enjoy your burger. I got the samurai burger which was the special that day and it did not disappoint! The sesame bun itself needs an award. I dunno how they can make a bun so crisp yet fluffy AND have sesame seeds that do not overpower each bite. The creamy wasabi sauce was not spicy at all yet had enough kick that added to the prefectly cooked wagyu beef patty. In addition to all of this, the shitake mushrooms and nori(seaweed) added more elements to the burger which i throughly enjoyed. A bit expensive(13 euros) however so worth it!

The silly cheesesteak is out of this world. Do yourself a favor and order it. Too bad they were out of meatloaf, but now I’ll have to come back!

Great burger spot, it’s rated highly, justifiably. Second time I’ve visited this restaurant, this is a year later. Really quite delicious flavor combinations on the menu, we loved the lamb burger with goat cheese, onions, and avocados. Meat perfectly done. Both times it’s been crowded – takes a bit of time to order and get your meal, so don’t put this off until the last minute.

The burgers look great. However I didn’t have one as I had the Silly Cheese which is their version of a Philly Cheese Steak sandwich. It was okay but could have used a little salt. Other than that it was a good sandwich. Next time I’ll have a burger. They don’t serve fries with their burgers. The drinks seemed a little pricey as I paid 5,50 for a large apple juice that wasn’t really so large and certainly not worth what I paid for it. The inside is really tiny so seating is difficult. They do take away and you can sit on a bench outside to eat. The staff is friendly. The place is very very busy. The food took awhile to get. Two things I like are not having to wait an overly long time to get my food and a comfortable place to sit to eat. I will go back however.

One of the best burgers I’ve ever had. The pork-a-licious was full of flavor and perfectly cooked. The staff was incredibly friendly. Definitely recommend passing by this shop. Might have to wait a little bit but it’s well worth it!

Good burgers? Yes. They are tasty and juicy. The best burgers in Amsterdam? Not in my opinion, but I am one of many. I can say that of the 4 of us today who know our burgers and have had many in Amsterdam, none of them said this would be their favorite. We all got a Dutch beef patty with different toppings, and not the Waygu, just to be clear. Staff is friendly and go our orders right. Definitely a plus. I really can’t believe how small it is… shockingly small. We ate on the bench across the street! But they even offered to put them on plates for us if we were on the bench, but we thought it less messy with the to-go containers. Oh how wrong we were. I think everyone got juicy goodness on themselves. Of course that is good and bad. Good that they were so juicy, bad that the juice made it onto clothing. Only other comment is that the temperatures were not consistent. My husband ordered rare and it was more like medium to medium well. Mine was a good medium as requested. I would go back for a good burger(to-go), but I just wouldn’t go out of my way for it.

The Hangover Burger. The Lamb Burger. Both delicious. Here’s what you get in the Hangover Burger in addition to a thick, well-seasoned meat patty: fried egg, pancetta, cheddar, red wine onion compote, lettuce, sweet tomato, mini pickles, and homemade burger sauce on a sesame seed bun. Is your mouth watering? It’s a beautiful mess. Seating is extremely limited; 6 seats at the bar max. Best to take your burger to-go and walk a few minutes down Nieuwe Spiegelstraat to the Museumplein area.

This is undoubtedly the best burger in Amsterdam. I mean, a burger made with awesome meat + awesome pulled pork on top of it? What else could you ask for? Staff is also very friendly. Downside is that the place is tiny. Only 6 people sitting.

Great food… lousy seating! And I’m quoting the head chef and owner Robert. Five stars for the great burger, juice and service. Had the kim chee burger and beet juice blend. No seats so took a short walk to the Rijksmuseum garden and ate under the trees. Wonderful and relaxing lunch.

Out of the thousands of quick bites to eat and fast food places in Amsterdam, Lombardo’s was by far the king of them all. The burger I ate — the Wagyu — was an eye-opening experience. All this from their burger. I thought I had already had the best burger of my life before coming to Lombardo’s. I was wrong.

There are plenty of places to get decent burger in Amsterdam but Lombardo’s stands above the other places I have tried so far. The slender sandwich and burger bar does not have many seats so is always busy at lunch time, but the staff are very relaxed and friendly and manage to punch out quality burgers and sandwiches quickly and consistently. Personally I always go for one of the burgers and have pretty much worked my way through their menu without having a disappointing experience. The juices are on the expensive side but are also fantastic and a great way to wash down the food on your way out!

I was in Amsterdam with my mom for a day, and while I wanted some traditional Dutch food, I was intrigued by this highly rated burger place on Unilocal. We had just finished visiting the Rijksmuseum, and Lombardo’s was nearby, so I made an executive decision to get some burgers. I know, I know, but if this is truly the best burger in Amsterdam, I wanted to see why. I ended up ordering the Wagyu Beef burger and my mom had the beef & pancetta meatloaf sandwich. It is a tiny place, with about 6 seats, so while we were waiting for our food to be made, we just stood by the seating area. By the time our food was ready, seats were available! The sandwich making station is right by the cashier, so you can actually see your sandwich/burger being put together. They were delivered on tray for those dining in, with a knife and fork. As a regular burger eater, I scoffed at the use of the knife and fork until I realized that the burger was pretty massive, and did require the use of the utensils. I will agree with the other Unilocalers that the burger was absolutely delicious. The flavors all did mix well together, and I gobbled it up pretty quickly. My mom enjoyed her sandwich, and as she couldn’t finish it, I ended up eating some of it as well and agreed with her assessment. While we were waiting, I saw the pulled pork burger being made, and it also looked super delicious. So, not a bad choice for food, although it is a little pricey for burgers(I believe it was around 13 euros for the Wagyu beef burger, and 6 – 7 euros for my mom’s sandwich).

I grabbed a sandwich from here while on a work trip based on Trip Advisor reviews. The place is fairly small and there’s only a narrow bar with a few stools for seating so you definitely need to take it to go. If the weather is nice they wrap their sandwiches well so you can sit on a bench by the canal(my preferred option). I had the veggie and goat cheese sandwich. The veggies were beautifully prepared and roasted to perfection. I picked some hearty country bread that was just heavenly. So fluffy and sturdy. The only bone I have to pick is that the goat cheese was a massive slab that sort of overpowered the sandwich. I ended up picking off half of it for fear my mouth would be glued shut. I can say though, you get your money’s worth. The burgers looked good too. Might have to stop and try one next time.

It took exactly 40 minutes to prepare the food we have ordered… And did it live up to my expectations? We have heard so much lately about Lombardo’s since they were listed for having the best burgers in Amsterdam. The store itself is a small artisan styled interior with just a counter, semi open kitchen and only like six barstool for eating in. This all has it charmes. Now the food. We had the pulled pork sandwich and a Dutch beef burger. The two complains are that the pulled pork was too sweet for our taste and the patty was underseasoned. Both sandwiches were royally garnished. I would give it three stars for now, but I would definately go back and giving them a second chance and try the other burgers. Btw. Love the Spiegelkwartier neighbourhood!

I’ve recently been on a so called Burger Tour in Amsterdam to find the most delicious Hamburger. Through my epic journey to find the most satisfying meatyness trapped between tasty buns I went to The Butcher, BurgerBar, Burgermeester, Lombardo’s. Lombardo’s wins this round by far! The place is pretty small there are no tables just a few seats against a wall table, so you have to be lucky to find a seat as it gets very busy. Because of the small real estate you really get a intimate vibe. After placing your order you can see your Burger made in front of you. And that looks so delicious like the Burger is teasing you making you wait before you can chow it down. They have a wide variety of different food from Burgers with different types of meats and toppings or get yourself a club sandwich, lasagna, salads. Side dishes like fries(which they ran out of) etc. I went for the Wagyu Burger with REAL Kobe meat! The meaty deliciousness was served between a toasted sesame bun getting rid of the typical soft flat Burger buns. Filled with Sauteed onions, the cheese gets really melty and gooey, and the fresh toppings were crisp and fresh topped off with their tasty homemade sauce! No «hold the onion, hold the lettuce» here. If your looking for the best Burger in town, then this is the place to come and get it!

Martijn, the owner, loves and lives food. When he is on holiday he always visits michelin star restaurants. He has the big green egg, yes the big one. In his small and tiny foodstore he works works with the best ingredients. You can sit with about 6 people and the chef is preparing your sandwich in the tiny kitchen. You can also sit outside with 4 people. Lot of local people who are working in this posh area, with artstores, law firms and financial companies, enjoy lunch from lombardo’s. Sometimes he is number 1 on tripadvisor I love lombardo’s

Lombardo’s seems super packed, people standing in line out the door. Service at the counter was nice but making the burgers took ages. As there were only 6 bar stools, long wait and no room to move, I’d say the food would have to really be superb for the restaurant to live up to the rave reviews. I had Grilled chicken sandwich. I found it tasty with kind of a creamy flavour. Being a huge friend of spicy, I would have liked more flavour. My husband had the Kobe beef burger. Even though the meat was good, this wasn’t the best burger he’s had. So for us the expectations were not met and thus only 3 stars even though food was descend and ingredients high quality.

Ganz klare Empfehlung!

Round 2 — Lombardo’s Excellent! Excellent! Excellent! I had the Creekstone Ribeye sandwich and came to a decision… I should preface by saying that I don’t eat sandwiches often. However, this is the best sandwich I have ever had.
