Had diner here with my friend. The place was absolutely perfect! Small and cozy restaurant, with a very friendly staff and delicious food. I strongly recommend it, I am quite sure you will not be disappointed. Also it is ideally located, in the center of Amsterdam, within walking distance of a lot of nice bars and pubs.

A really good place for some meat! For some reason, I expected a lot more of it(probably because it’s labeled as a Brazilian steak place — and I’m still not sure why) but the portions were just right. I’ll echo other reviewers’ love for the pumpkin/shortrib/marscapone starter — three ingredients that shouldn’t even be uttered together yet somehow blend amazingly well. Most of our party had the sliced steak with mango chutney which was cooked perfectly — this dish came with fries and I found it a little weird that they just brought out a small basket of them for 6 of us to share. Fries are SERIOUS business — how am I to know if I took too few or too much of them?(let’s hope for the latter…) Dessert(that night it was a chocolate lava cake and lemon mousse) were good but nothing special. This is a limited menu, but filled with all quality dishes. Something strange to point out about the physical space: there must be something wrong with the stairs going up to the third floor, as we witnessed two people slip and almost fall down them that night. Keep an eye out and be careful!

One of my friends wanted to eat meat, lots of meat for dinner, so I scoured Unilocal & tried to find a meaty place. The usual culprits for meat were all full. I got lucky with this place because they had a table for four on a friday evening! The place is a super charming tiny little place, old school dutch style. And I loved how every table has a candle on it. While browsing the menu we had a plate of bread with a herring pâté and olive oil placed down. The bread was delicious and the herring pâté, even better! We all decided to get the four course surprise menu which was 32.40 i believe. Each course was delicious. All the meats were cooked and marinated perfectly(I have photos attached to this review of each course). I recommend all of them and it was hard deciding which one was my favorite. I don’t think this place is traditional brazilian but brazilian inspired and they did a good job doing their twist on it. Service was also efficient and friendly especially for being a full house! The only reason I can’t give them 5 stars is because we all felt the portion sizes were a bit on the small side. The guys at our table left hungry. I was on the edge of still hungry. Also we ordered more bread for our table since we knew the plates weren’t going to fill us up. We got charged for each extra bread basket we received. I would also recommend this place for a nice romantic dinner. Dark walls, charm & candlelight. you can’t go wrong!

Overall an ok experience because: + average food + friendly and welcoming atmosphere + very slow service I would give it 3,5 star for the very welcoming atmosphere and the good quality meats. The pace of service and the rest of the dishes could be improved though. The food was ok-ish. For example, the meats were of good quality, but they were cooked in too much gravy and were served with bland tasting vegetables. Also the cocottes had good tasting mushrooms, but the sauce was overwhelming. The place itself is very welcoming and the staff very friendly. The owner/chef came to our table for a very friendly chat. It has a very intimate and relaxed atmosphere. However, the service is incredibly slow. It took 25 minutes before our drink orders were taken and we received the menu, 35 minutes to place our order and only 75 minutes after arriving did we have our first course. And the restaurant was not very crowded. Feels like this should be improved.

I was in Amsterdam last week for a conference and a local recommended this restaurant. From the outside we were a little unsure that it was for us, upon entering a very small foyer and pulling back a drape we accessed the restaurant. It was a small dining area and only one couple was in the place. Myself and two coworkers decided to stay and try it and wow am I glad that we did! The service was excellent and the food was truly amazing! The cuisine is Brazilian Slow Cooked Barbecue and unlike anything I have ever had between the three of us we had as appetizers: Escondidinho 9.50 €(«hide and seek»): a layer of pumpkin purée covered with rib eye baked on low heat in the oven and topped with mascarpone and Parmegiano cheese Chicken Malai Kebab 9.50 € Chicken by traditional Indian recipe. Served with ruccula salad and roasted cherry tomatoes My main course was a special that is not listed on their web menu at the moment, it was a slow cooked beef with coconut served with wild rice and a tzatziki sauce. Beef with a coconut barbecue in a Greek tzatziki sauce is not something I would have thought of mixing, but it was fantastic. If you are in Amsterdam, NL go to this restaurant you won’t be disappointed.
