Kaffa Koffie & Theewinkel Amsterdam

We enjoyed our take-​away coffees from Kaffa. The coffee was good and surprisingly inexpensive. Unfortunately, there is no interior seating here (and only one small table outside), so I’d suggest Kaffa primarily for take-​away coffee and for purchasing coffee beans. We also had some of the house-​made coffee truffles, which I’d highly suggest.

Update: I talked to the guy today and asked if he does coffee to-​go. He says he does but he doesn’t advertise it because he’s a one-​man shop. So if you’re craving some awesome coffee to take with you, this is a great place to get it.
This place sells the most potent coffee I’ve ever tasted. The first time I brewed it in my french press, I was up until well past 4:30am and it felt like I could see through time. When my boyfriend has a cup or two, he’s bouncing around the house at 2:30am putting together Ikea furniture when he normally can’t keep his eyes open past 11pm. I don’t know what they do to it, but it’s pretty amazing.
What’s even better is their Ethiopian coffee liqueur. It’s like Kahlua but not opaque and not as sweet. It’s just delicious alcoholic coffee goodness. The owner will tell you a story about how it’s distilled in Amsterdam and refined to a point where it’s almost pure alcohol, but the bottom line is it makes a White Russian that even The Dude would be envious of.
