We enjoyed a lovely few days holiday in Amsterdam. Great city! Stumbled across Joselito on our last night & on paper it ticked all the boxes(good range of tapas on menu, beautiful ambience and space, reasonable prices). We ventured in for what we thought would be a delicious last dinner on our trip. How wrong we were. I always like to see the good in all but truly the food was terrible. We ordered ~8 dishes and all were hard to stomach. Either overcooked/undercooked/super salty/cold. It was truly disappointing. Albeit we got through what we could to try and get our money’s worth but it was not enjoyable at all :(To add, the waiter tried to short change us when we paid the bill. Note we already added a tip and he still tried to short change further citing his English was not good and he did not understand. I don’t think so. Trying to play a fast one. In short, if you are looking for quality, authentic tapas this is not the spot. Shame that the interior does not match the food or service.

This place was nice. It was my first stop in Amsterdam only because it was on the way to my apartment for the week. Food was middle of the road, pretty good, but not the best. I wood go there again. I got the spanish tuna omelet. I would recommend it.

The tabla de queso and the garlic fried chicken(wings in the U.S.) were outstanding Wine choices a bit slim but beer good. Nice atmosphere.

One of my last meals in Amsterdam and it was good. I’ve had better tapas, but this seemed to fill me up nicely. The squid was good, but they could have done better with the garlic mushrooms(I love garlic and mushrooms btw). I am giving them 3 stars since it is Amsterdam and my memory is a bit hazy. Give them a try and hop across the canal for you know what or vice versa(might lend for a more tasty experience).

Ok, so the service was good. They were really friendly but… The food — it was exactly what you would expect from boxed frozen food. We ordered the calamari, the fish croquettes, the empanadilla, and the serranito. None of it tasted authentic and we left feeling very disappointed. If you are satisfied with mediocre tasting tapas, then this is the place for you. If not, I would suggest going elsewhere.

typisches Touristenlokal. Überschaubares Angebot, preiswerte Menu Angebote. Das Lokal ist sehr dunkel, würde besser beleuchtet sicher einladender wirken. Die Bedienung war freundlich, wirkte aber etwas überfordert.

If it wasn’t for the strange side salads accompanying a couple of the dishes(and the weird soft bland nuts) and the fact that they don’t take plastic, they would get 5 stars. Loved the kitty having the run of the place, too… gave it character, as did the waiter singing his heart out along with the soundtrack. Lamb chops were great(a bit rare, though, and I ordered them medium rare), and the potatoes, while more like fries than patatas, were very tasty, and well seasoned. Fried cheese was spot on… very«squeaky», like curds, tasty, but held it’s shape and texture very well. the bacon wrapped figs were also very tasty, and they may have read the previous post because the bacon was on the caramelized side. The garlic aioli was ‘to die for’! When you spread it on the bread, which is crispy from the oven on the outside, but still soft and fresh inside, it tasted like good italian garlic bread(yes, I know this place is supposed to be spanish, but tasty is tasty). I would go back if I wasn’t leaving in the morning. :-(

The rating started out at a five star rating. The place has good atmosphere(personally I like the cat roaming around the restaurant) and the service was the best we’ve encountered in Europe by a mile. They actually asked you if you wanted a drink refill. We had high hopes from the moment we sat down… until the moment the food arrived, This was the worst tapas I have ever eaten. The patatas were basically boiled potatoes with a little sauce. The dates were just a date wrapped in about 2 pounds of undercooked bacon with an almond on top. The meatballs were ok, making them the best thing on the table. All in all we had six dishes and none were better than mediocre(the free bread was actually good). We wanted to give them five stars, but the food takes the rating way down.

Visited this little Spanish café bar for lunch yesterday — we needed somewhere handy for Amsterdam Centraal station. They have some great outside seating but as it was rather grey and drizzly in Amsterdam we sat inside. Draft Amstel or 500ml jugs of sangria. Good range of traditional tapas — the full menu can be viewed as a PDF on their website — we went for freshly baked bread and aioli with garlic prawns, fried boquerones, tortilla, deep fried cheese, chicken in Spanish sauce. The garlic prawns were the pick — we even had to order some extra bread to mop up all the juices. Tapas were consistently good, staff friendly with a chilled atmosphere. If you have had a couple of drinks be careful on the traditionally steep stairs down to the toilets in the basement. I would happily pop back to grab some lunch and a few beers next time we are in Amsterdam

Woo-hoo… First review… :) Was in Amsterdam for few days after Christmas… nicely planned to coincide with freezing cold weather, but thats neither here nor there… Happened upon this place after a hard afternoon of shopping — what can I say, Im dedicated — and was immediately taken with the detail that has gone into this place… So pretty. It had plants hanging from the ceilings, walls emblazoned with flamenco dancers and its very own resident cat who really did not want to give up her seat to me… The tapas menu here was large, but not off-putting. To be honest, Im a divil for over-ordering when it comes to tapas dishes(sure theyre only small…) but this time, I think we got it more or less right. Delicious breads, superb meats(everyone should try their Iberico Jamon — absolutely mouth-watering) Our waiter was very helpful despite the fact that he seemed to be alone. Would definitely come back when Im in Amsterdam next — hopefully during the summer so I can try out the waterside terrace to get the real Spanish vibe going…
