I’m surprised this place has no profile or reviews. I certainly don’t mind the additional time making one either. To be quite honest, I’m normally a 3 or more stars kind of traveller but I really loved this place. It was a chill spot in Amsterdam, truly. You check in and get a free shot at the quiet bar on the street level of the hotel. The stairs are freakishly yet comically steep but you are in Holland. That’s how they do stairs. We came for a second time to Amsterdam to have fun since our first trip was a mix of tourist/work related activity. This was the perfect crash pad for four friends looking for a chill time. 4 beds to a room, 2 of them bunks. Do you feel like Alexis Carrington from Dynasty? It’s not that kind of trip. It was cozy enough to stay in during the rain but also small enough to remind you that you are on vacation and should probably get the hell out. Our room had tall ceilings and many large windows. The only thing that sucked was that the whole floor shared a bathroom and a shower. They were, however, immaculate every time I used them and there were only 4 rooms on a floor. I chose this hotel because I wanted to have a quick inexpensive international trip. Every hotel review I looked at online in that price range had a review that read«WARNINGBEDBUGS» no joke. After two planning meetings I was about to cancel the trip until I found this one on . The room was clean and equipped with excellent FREE wifi. The staff was courteous and helpful. If you want to split a room with 3 of your closest for about $ 50 a head per night and not deal with hostel bs, this is your spot. It is a stones throw away from Centraal Station and at the start of the Red Light district. Is it for everyone? Probably not. I am very particular about certain things, though. This hotel does not parade around as the Hilton. It is, however, right near everything cool in central Amsterdam, inexpensive, clean, friendly and usually booked up 6 months in advance for those reasons.
