Great lil dinner. My wife and I both had the club sandwich. It was most excellent. The wait staff was friendly and helpful. We also enjoyed the free WiFi.

Lovely place for breakfast or just a nice cup of coffee. Friendly staff: Ana is great

Well not that much impressed by it to be honest… The beers offered are the ones easily found in any neighborhood bar
The snacks offered were not that special and when i tried them i could easily see that these were not made in store

Brunch simple, bon et pas cher e qui né semble pas si fréquent à Amsterdam. Très bien situé.

–Hamburger please, no cheese, no egg (we got cheese and egg)
–Pasta Pesto (good. Just perfect)
–Thai soup (lukewarm and way to sweet)
–Broodjes Kroket (got white instead of brown)
It was a € 14 burger… It took 40 minutes… When we got it, we asked to take it back, and give us one without cheese and egg. Guess what!!! They scrapped if off, stuck it in the microwave and gave it to my son! …how do I know it was nuked? Well… if was cold but burnt outside and dry and really hot inside.
€ 48 for à bad lunch, we complained when walking outside and the responds was: «We are a great restaurant!»
…no you are not.

Had a very nice lunch on the canal. Friendly attentive service, generous portions, good food. We had a few coffees, the carpaccio, and a veggie panini. Great pea soup as well. A quiet spot away from the square. Would eat here again.

Es el primer local que tenemos a mano durante esta visita y, como hoy hemos dormido más de la cuenta, hemos tenido que pedir 2 cafés para llevar corriendo.
La persona que nos ha atendido ha sido bastante correcta y veloz, y nos ha puesto una galletita un pelín sosa a cada uno como acompañamiento; en cuanto al café, yo opino que era un poco flojo, lo cual es raro porque, desde que llegué, casi tengo que cortarlos con cuchillo.
Pero la comida debe ser buena, debería probarla: siempre tienen gente en la terraza, lo compruebo cada noche desde mi ventana.

We were walking by in the late afternoon and feeling the need for snacks & drinks. This place was a very good choice — the bitteballen were really good, and the environment was super comfortable and inviting. I’d go back again to try lunch or dinner.

Auf der Suche nach etwas Essbarem im westlichen Grachtengürtel sind wir auf dem Weg zum Dam auf dieses Bistro gestoßen, dessen Lage am Wasser in Verbindung mit gutem Wetter uns sofort zusagte. Zwar waren draussen alle Tische besetzt, aber wir konnten drinnen direkt am weit geöffneten bodentiefen Flügelfenster Platz nehmen.
Aufgrund der Lage wohl nicht ganz billig. Trotzdem ein Besuch wert um mal aus dem Touristen-​Trott heraus zu kommen. Denn hier sieht man keine Touristen. Draussen auf der Terrasse saß eine größere einheimische Familie, am Nachbartisch zwei niederländisch sprechende Freundinnen. Überhaupt waren einige Kinder anwesend.
Die Speisekarte ist zwar abwechslungsreich. Ein paar niederländische Klassiker vermisst man jedoch.

My friend works there so I often end up being there. I am very lucky as they have a very good kitchen and the bar staff there are great. The Columbian (?) owner is very good towards his staff so they are often good natured, easy to approach and effective (and no, my mate didnt bribe me!)
The food is quite good. You should try their tuna melt — very good. The chips there is great — they must have done something right with the frying oil!

Excellent Coffee and drinks!
The Carpaccio Salad is quite good as well as the Cod dinner.
Nice location and plenty of seating (indoor & outdoor).
Very, very nice people!

Great location, outside seating with canal view. Try their apple pie: really good!

Het Paleis is a favorite of one of my colleagues so I went here several times during my stay in Amsterdam. I had the tuna melt on one visit that was quite good and the kroketten broodje (crochette sandwich) on another. Kroketten are a typical Dutch food that you should definitely try during your stay. Smash the kroketten on the brown bread and top with mustard! Very tasty!
