My colleague and I popped into this café after walking through The Dam, since it started to rain a tad bit and we were craving something light to eat. I love gastropubs or café-type spaces, but I was put off this place when my colleague and I sat down at a table and it took FOREVER for our server to come over. I had even started to wonder if you’re supposed to order at the bar, which isn’t completely out of the question and I’ve certainly done that at similar pubs or cafes before. After what felt like forever, a male server finally passed by our table and, thinking my colleague and I had missed something, I tried to casually flag him down to just quickly ask if we order at the bar or if we could get menus for our table. He got very snipping and said«why do you think I’m here?» …Um, I don’t know… you’re not carrying menus and we’ve been here for about 20 minutes now just waiting for someone to notice us. If you’re supposed to be our server, you’re doing a real crap-tastic job so far. The server gave us menus, though it seemed begrudgingly. My colleague and I ordered our food and drinks, worried that if we didn’t rush to order then we’d never get the server back to our table. The food came out perhaps 10 minutes later, but it was so basic… and, of course, our server never ever came back to our table. My colleague and I finished our food and then waited a bit to see if the server(who had passed multiple times) would at least stop by and give us our check. Nope! We ended up getting up from the table and going up to the bar to pay for our meals. By the end of the experience, I was just so over it… I didn’t even care that it was pouring outside. Honestly? I just wanted out of that place. TL;DR Server was snippy and didn’t seem interested in, well, doing his job. Food was basic. I’ll pass.

Pretty busy outdoor seating area and ghost town inside but it worked out for a nice quiet air conditioned drink Waiters are all cute to look at but took about 20 minutes preparing our can drinks. We ordered one of all the desserts and they were great. Especially the pie with ice and whipped cream.

This is a friendly little café where you can get a bite to eat or just have coffee and drinks. The staff is friendly. The service is just okay. The menu is pretty simple offering fairly standard meals like salads, sandwiches and a burger. I had apple pie. It was good with whipped cream of course. They have a terrace to hang out in on sunny days. They’re also dog friendly.

Nice and spacious place with jazzy music in the background, allowing lovely chats with friends. pretty tasty, decent breakfasts, especially if you like eggs on your plate in the mornings.

Café Raedt, beautifully situated facing the canal, serves up a mixture of Dutch, Italian, and American cuisine that’s sure to fit your tastes somehow. Their prices are relatively friendly, and the outward facing tables make for a great natural ambience. I had the smoked salmon sandwich on brown bread, which had a great vinaigrette drizzled on top of the arugula and capers. The bread was on the thick side, so after the toast cooled, it got a little too hard for my taste. Overall, the sandwich was a satisfactory lunch, but not particularly memorable. The sandwiches are probably the best deal, as my family ordered pastas and salads that were more expensive, but not that much better in terms of quality or quantity!

Pas trop cher, bien situé! Servent le lunch jusqu’à 17h! Les sandwichs sont plus ou moins copieux! Vous conseille le Raw Beef sausage…

I found it a cosy place, not too expensive, and you can stay there as long as you want. Service is however very slow and not very caring(it seems to take ages to notice that you might like to place orders, or even to pay). Perhaps also due to this slowliness, the hot chocolate with milk was served lukewarm(which I tend to find unforgiveable in the middle of winter). Ok, beat me, just relax, slow down, and enjoy!

started off the experience with a small spider on the table. the waitress came over, used 1 of our utensils to pick up the spider, accidentally dropped the spider somewhere on the floor, then handed the utensils back to us. um… what? our appetizers came out after our entrees. the apple pie was meh. took forever for us to pay the bill, so we walked it up to the register instead.

I stopped in here for a late lunch and got a cozy little corner table overlooking the canal. The menu is limited and not exactly exciting(a few simple sandwiches, pancakes, etc), but not a bad value for the city centre. I opted for the raw Dutch sausage sandwich. It was simple, but really enjoyable. It came on fresh brown bread with boiled eggs and hot mustard, which added a nice punch. I washed it all down with a glass of seasonal dark beer they had on tap and got change back from € 15. As other reviewers also mention, the service can be a little slow/non-existent. I was motioned to seat myself, ended up borrowing a menu off another table and had to walk up to the counter to pay, as nobody came back to check on me. They were friendly enough, but very casual about service. It didn’t bother me as much on that particular day because I was in a similar lackadaisical mood, but could see how it might be frustrating in normal circumstances.
