Love H&M for their cheap clothing that can be stylish clothes. This is a small store & the staff is rude. Lady in the dressing room basically doesn’t want to do her job. Cashier unfriendly. There are several other stores in Amsterdam I can go to while living here.

It’s an ok place and the staff have always been rather helpful. I go in for some basics sometimes but overall their collection is more suited for the young set, which is pretty much most people who hang out in Leidseplein. In case you’re looking for undies though, I definitely do not recommend theirs! And that’s all the TMI you’ll be getting from me.

My experience with this particular H&M is that it seems to be the one I come to when I need something in Amsterdam that I forgot to pack. The first time around, it was pajama pants. Luckily, my hostel was just around the corner, so I stopped here, grabbed a pink pair of pants, and had something to sleep in the rest of my trip. Unfortunately, I knew nothing about European sizing at the time, so they ended up being way too big, but they got the job done. Next time around, my boyfriend forgot his sunglasses. No problem. We came here, he found a pair he liked for 5 euros, and we were out in a few minutes. Thanks H&M. You really help out when I’m in a bind.

I find this H&M store just doesn’t have the selection like the one in Utrecht Central, which is strange considering Amsterdam is a busier city with more tourists and people in general. I like La Place restaurant for a quick snack, and the sales people are helpful too — its’ just the selection needs some improvement. Anyway, if your visiting from North America, you’ll still find some fashion gems with a European flare to bring back home. Expat tip: Try it on first.
