So let me get this right? You are willing to smother my scrumptious cone of fries in a cheese or mayo sauce or forgive me for saying it, «Both»…Yes please!!! How fucking cool is this place!!! I took my cone of happiness and sat on a nearby stool, skillfully stabbing and eating my fries from Heaven with the provided pitch fork and felt like I had just won the lottery!!! I looked right at a lady about to order and said, «God damn these are good.» Now I try hard not to say GD but he created them and it was said positively so I figured I was good. :) I’m starting a petition to get one of these lil fry businesses in the States! Long live Chipsy!!!

Chipsy Kings, the King of Chips. Great fries at a good price. Huge portion. Really a must-try in Amsterdam. Great mayo and other sauces, too.

If you’ve been walking all day and everything else is closed, these will do. I mean, how wrong can you go with frites? But if you’re serious about frites(who isn’t?) then this is not the place to get them. These are mass-produced, tourist-targeted, overpriced, pre-cut chips. They fill the gap, but they’re barely ‘meh’. Want really good frites? I’d walk the few blocks to Vlaams Friteshuis Vleminckx.

Cheese fries to die for, or any of their fries for that matter. Great snack on the go.

There’s no rhyme or reason or logic to how they call your number, but the chips/fries are good. They forgot to give me my sauce though.

This place(in my opinion) is way better than Manneken Pis We bought a bag from each topped with Mayo(I’m not a fan of Frit Saus as I dislike mustard) & tested them on the 6 of us travelling all agreed Chipsy King are the purveyors of fine chips ;) Cheap too ;)

If you find yourself in Amsterdam, there are two things you must do while you are there: Try Polder Gold’s Sheep Cheese, and get your hands on some fries. For the sake of this review, I’m going to talk about the latter. I got my hands on some hot, crispy yet soft fries at Chipsy King and I was overwhelmed by the experience, in a good way. You are given sooooo many choices for a dip it’s insane. It’s not just ketsup or mustard! They have what they call the«Basis,» which comprises of some of these: mayo, curry, ketsup, mustard, sweet chili. The total basis options are about 12. The other options in addition to the basis include four«Specials,» and then finally you get to choose from four«Vlaams» which I’m still not sure what that translates too, but you just end up having more to pick from! They are constantly making fresh fries and it’s a very rapid process where you give your order to the guy manning the register, and then the guy making the fries scoops up a fresh batch of fries for you while lathering the fries with your choice of dip(s). I ended up getting fries with sweet chili sauce AND cheese sauce, and loved them. I felt bad for my classmate who was with me to have witnessed the mess and gluttony while I attacked those fries. Dip everywhere and not a dry finger. But the unladylikness of it all was worth it, dang they were gooood! I did take off a star though because I got jipped of my change. My total was € 2.40 and I gave € 5.40 and was never given my € 3 in change back. The place was completely crowded and the interaction at the register happened so fast, I didn’t have a chance to address it. Before I realized I was jipped, the people behind me were already at the register and there was no room to even move back and say anything. Anyways, aside from not getting my change, my experience was very positive and the fries were certainly worth the € 3 I lost! If you don’t mind a good splurge and some messiness, and appreciate a good«frite,» then Chipsy King is your best friend.

Getting some proper Dutch fries(complete with mayo) was a must do on my trip. I’m not a huge fan of fries or grease but I thought the fries tasted good. The wait was a little longer than I would have liked in the very cramped restaurant(popular spot) but the price was great and you can’t really go wrong with fries. It’s a must do in Holland!

awesome fries! my first meal here in amsterdam and trust me my expectations were high! but these golden hot potato delishness were everything i dreamt and more! had a large cone with garlic sauce… soooo good! altho the sauce was a bit too salty. i wonder if they do white vinegar? i mean then i wouldn’t be as worried for my heart health afterwards. would def go again. thumbs up!

Vlaamse fries are sort of a quintessential Amsterdam experience and Chipsy King will help you understand why. Pipping hot and covered in the condiments of your choice, these fries are gluttonous street food that don’t pretend to be anything else. I get them smothered in ketchup and mayonnaise and I usually start dreaming about them halfway through my planning of a trip to Amsterdam.

Best. Fries. Ever. Never been duplicated, absolutely flawless. I’ve tried Manneken Pis and these are certainly better. Don’t be afraid of the ‘frites sauce’ which is essentially mayonnaise. It absolutely works, and it’s the default for locals. Do not skip this.

Don’t skip this place! Don’t skip the frites at all. EVER. They were hot, they were fresh and they were fast. Can you really argue with me on this? Good choices in sauces, not a really long list like some places but what I tried, I liked!

Quite good frites. Not nearly as good as Vlemincx, but about on par with Vlaamse Frites, and better than Manneken Pis. Will get my business if open outside Vlemincx’s hours. Basic sauces, but tasty.
