Cafe Koosje

Aww I loved this little place.
After an afternoon spend at Artis Zoo and Micropia, we headed to Café Koosje as it looked like a cool little spot to chill with a beer. And a cool little spot it was!
I’ve noticed that generally everywhere we went in Amsterdam had outstanding customer service. Nothing fake or fickle, no one seemed miserable. It was really nice having someone come to take your order at your seat rather than queuing at the bar!
The guy that served us was happy to recommend a nice beer to me, which was nice. I could have stayed here all evening. Another place that I really hope to go to on my next visit.

Cozy café with nice staff but the food here is consistently average. I’ve had a salad here (which was pretty, but covered in a very sugary dressing) and an omelette (I’ve had way better). Overall I feel the food is overpriced, and their wine selection lacking, but it’s probably a great place to go for a beer after a day at the zoo.

While staying here in Amsterdam I passed this place a couple of times. Tonight we decided to try it and boy, I’m glad we did. For us Americans this is a real treat as it is what I’d call a true pub. Warm, serves good coffees and alcohol drinks as well as good food. The staff is SUPER friendly.

Great food at a reasonable price. Service was very slow. Had to get the waiters attention several times. It seemed as if they went out of their way to ignore you.

We are Americans, and we took a trip to Amsterdam. We found this place just by walking by. (I needed a bathroom, which they had, and they also have free WiFi). Upon arrival, the staff was not extremely inviting, but once we sat down, the waiter was friendly. I got the Koosje sandwich and a cappuccino, while my husband got the «Runderhamburger». I was very satisfied with my sandwich! It was a lot of food for the price, and it was super filling (even being a vegetarian sandwich). My husband was less than happy with the burger, though. Something tasted off about it. I would recommend this place for sure! Maybe just stick with the sandwiches.

Very cute and comfortable café with good lunch/​brunch fare and a few nice beers on tap (and fast wifi). Fair prices and surprisingly friendly staff. The proximity to Artis and the Botanic Garden is also a plus. The pastrami & sauerkraut sandwich was simply amazing!

Vacationing in Amsterdam and this place is right down the street from the Dutch Resistance Museum. We had a nice Panenkoken (Dutch pancake) and an apple desert. Both were very good. We saw them bringing out sandwiches and other stuff that looked equally as good. Well worth the stop after a day of walking around Amsterdam.

Our hotel was a few doors down from this wonderful pub so we eventually found ourselves here for a drink and appetizers before setting out for the night. It’s right across from the Artis GVB tram station which is great because you can get connected to pretty much anywhere else in town from there. The vibe inside the restaurant was so relaxing in the early evening. Free wifi, good beer, delicious genever, but here is what you should get:

BITTERBALLEN. Holy shit. It has to be one of the best contributions the Dutch have provided to mankind. It’s a meat-​based, spherical snack that is served with mustard and the perfect thing to eat while drinking. They come out of the kitchen HOT, so be careful. If you haven’t had them before, be sure to try them before you leave the country.
We didn’t have any of the full blown meals, but we did lurk around and saw good stuff being served. If we had more time, I’m sure we would have returned for a meal.

This was our first meal in Amsterdam and it was absolutely delicious! I ordered the salad with roasted vegetables. The veggies were chilled, and the dressing was fantastic! I will have to figure out how to make this in the states — it really was that tasty. The bread was also amazing. Overall a good experience. Definitely recommend this one.

I loved this place. It was the first spot I landed at when I arrived in Amsterdam on vacation. Very friendly staff, great beer and wifi!
I had breakfast there the next day and it was DELICIOUS.

What an adorable little place. I’ve been eating and drinking here since ’07. I know, I know, just getting around to writing a review now. Such a cute place, relaxed, and non touristy. It is right across from the zoo, but away from the hustle and bustle of the center. Really nice little sandwiches, and when the sun is out — MAN! its so nice to relax outside drinking a cappuccino and people watch. Everything is always fresh, reasonably priced, and chill. Nice place to go for happy hour as well.

We went to this café on a recommendation from the place where we were staying. They have a good menu, with many different choices. My wife and I were all set to order and then the waiter brought out one of the most amazing looking hamburgers of all time. We both looked at each other and said «O Yeah». It was so good! It came with fries. We got a local appetizer which was also very good. The place was full of local people and also happened to be hosting a small wedding reception on the other side of the restaurant. Over all good food, good service and very fair price.

Sehr ansprechendes Café, mit einem völlig verpeilten Service…
Die Karte fand ich nett und für jeden etwas dabei. Der pancake war super und an der großen Fensterfront lässt es sich durchaus gut verweilen.
