Burger Zaken

Would give 3.5 stars if I could. Neighborhood burger place, served from fresh ground beef. They have different levels of beef quality, have tired them and didn’t notice much difference, so stick with the default one [cheapest]. Small seating area, can get swamped quickly with tourists so be sure to have your friend serve as a seating minder while you order at the register. You have been warned ;-)

Super burgers dans un décor bois et métal industriel qui nous évoque tout de suite les restaurants et coffeeshops américains.
Pour le burger vous choisissez la viande (ils ont notamment du boeuf Wagyu !), la taille du steak (200 ou 280grs), et tous les ingrédients que vous voulez en plus, le prix final dépendra de vos choix !
Comme à peu près partout à Amsterdam le personnel parle couramment anglais, pas de souci de compréhension (à condition que vous fassiez aussi l’effort de parler anglais !)

Un amigo acababa de llegar a la ciudad muerto de hambre, así que entramos a este lugar por ser uno de los primeros que se nos cruzó. Nos pedimos unas hamburguesas y una porción de papas fritas para compartir. Las hamburguesas estaban bien, pero nada del otro mundo (lamentablemente al ser argentina no puedo evitar ser exigente con la carne). Venían con lechuga, tomate, pepinos y salsa barbacoa, pero agregarle cualquier otra cosa como bacon o queso cheddar se paga extra. Me pareció un poco caro para lo que ofrecen, sobretodo teniendo que pagar extra hasta por el ketchup para las papas fritas. La atención estuvo bien.

Although I can’t really compare, this place definitely lived up to the expectation of «best burger in town.» You can’t go wrong with the angus beef burger and the barbecue sauce is quite tasty as well! The portions are pretty hefty too, I got the smaller sized burger and couldn’t finish it.
It’s a little pricey considering cheese and sauce are extra, but it’s well worth it! If you’re looking for a good burger this is the place to try!

Wir waren entäuscht vom «besten Burger der Stadt» (wie der laden sich selbst ja promotet).
Der laden sieht sehr einladend aus und die Bedienung war flott und sehr nett.
Aus Düsseldorf kennen wir die etwas gehobeneren Burger Preise deswegen waren wir nicht überrascht, dass ein einfacher Burger 5 € kostet ohne Beilagen.
Wir bestellten zwei Burger mit Cheddar Käse und eine Portion Pommes mit Knoblauch Mayonnaise dazu. Mit zwei Getränken (großes Bier und Eistee lagen wir so bei ca. 30 €).
Die Burger kamen recht schnell, alledings waren wir auch neben zwei anderen die einzigen Gäste.
Der Burger kam aufgeklappt bei uns an (die Oberseite noch nicht draufgelegt) und gleich sah ich, dass die Buns (=Brötchen) nicht selbst gebacken waren. Auch hatte die Bedienung keinen Unterschied zwischen meinem Black Angus und dem Angus d’Argentine Burger gemacht hat. Preislich liegen diese jedoch 1,50 auseinander und auch die Qualität sollte dadurch eine andere sein.
Wir haben jedenfalls keinen Unterschied rausgeschmeckt. Die Burger waren medium bis well done gebraten und gut gewürzt. Allerdings war viel zu viel Burger sauce und zu wenig ketchup oder ähnliches auf em Burger. hat geschmeckt wie bei McDonalds.
Mich hat vor allem das Brötchen enttäuscht, schmeckte wie vom Discounter.
Die Fritten waren auch nicht lecker, eher labbrig und sehr fettig, sowas erwartet man nicht in Holland.
Wir haben in Düsseldorf schon viel bessere Burger gegessen und daher hats wirklich nur für 3 Sterne gereicht.

Ordered the wagyu beef burger was excited to try it once it came out i noticed the bun was as hard as could be. The beef itself was cooked to death and pretty tasteless! The fries where average overall a dinner for $ 40 euro that mcdonalds could probably out do.

This place lives up to their (own) billing as «The best burger in town!» Juicy, cooked to perfection and the fries were perfect! A great place to fuel up before (or after) a night in the RLD!

Pretty standard burgers & standard service. I ordered a veggie burger with pineapple and samurai saus, but I got garlic saus with my meal instead — which was quickly corrected by switching plates with my friend. My group had also ordered 6 bottles of water but was only served with 5. Once we informed the waiter, he took too long to come out… so one of my friends had to go inside to bring the water.
About the food: veggie patty is good, but too soft/​crumble-​y. It’s hard to eat with a burger bun, so ended up eating it with a fork. Samurai saus has a thick mayo base with a light spice taste. Pineapple was grilled sweet and paired well with the patty. Fries are standard, not bad but nothing special. A.k.a. a filling meal :)
Last thoughts: go for the outside seating — the cute wooden tables are placed by the water!

A 3.5 is a better indication of the stars I want to give.
A decent burger place in the center? Yes please! Better than Burger Bar, but not as good as some others. It satisfied my craving and the service was friendly though a little slow. I’m not sure what was going on but there was a woman taking the orders, but nobody at the grill… it just a little past noon. You need a cook back there!
Overall it was a nice experience. My order was correct, the burger was nicely done, the fries were fine and it was still warm when I got back to my office. Oh and they have free wifi! There are seats for probably two dozen people, so if you want to sit down, that might be an option for you.

I’m glad to see another burger joint open until the wee hours of the morning, especially so close to Dam Square. No more suffering the wasteland of terrible pizza.
The menu is nothing special. They don’t have any crazy options, and wouldn’t serve raw onions on my burger when I asked, only cooked onions. Boooo! And they charge extra for ketchup and mustard is not an option, so I was a little off-​kilter not being able to order my usual burger configuration.
As for the burger itself, all is forgiven, since the meat was so tender and juicy, I forgot to put my ketchup and samurai sauce on it. The fries were all crispy and delicious, each and every one, and they even gave me a paper bag so I could take half of them home with me. My burger and fries cost € 11 with all my extra sauces, but this is Amsterdam, so that’s what a decent burger costs. :/​
This doesn’t hit the spot like Burger Bar does, due to the lack of raw onions thing, but it is a very close second place. Hooray for decent burgers in Amsterdam!

The burgers are actually quite okay. Nice buns, great you can choose your own toppings. They have some really nice fresh ones to choose from. The burgers themselves were not medium done as promised but well done instead. A pity. The guys explained that the Dutch (which by the way we all were in our party of three) don’t like red meat… Why then put it one the menu we ask… Probably we came across as a bunch of people not really knowing what we really like? The fries that came with the burgers where the usual ones. Nothing special. Service could be better. Pity that they don’t serve alcohol. I would’ve loved a glass of red wine. The music was really loud and annoying. Just one of the worst Dutch commercial radio channels.

Very good burgers, good fries, nicely arranged on the plates. We came in with a group of six guys, each ordering a different burger plate (mostly based on angus) and all of us were really happy with the food!

Great burgers, excellent fries (they cut their own fries, no grocery store frozen crap), and consistently good. My favorite burger place in the center hands down.

Having just arrived in Amsterdam, we wanted something quick and simple but without sacrificing freshness and taste. Burger Zaken done exactly that. The patties were full of spice and herbs and did not fall into the veggie pattie trap of being too dry. The service was great and the prices were reasonable for its location. Located right in the centre of old Amsterdam, it’s a great stop for a casual bite.

Slow cooked burgers and tasty lamb burgers. You gotta love it. Takes a while but its worth it.

I was randomly strolling the streets of Amsterdam when I got hungry and decided this was a few steps closer to any other place that I probably wouldn’t find. I was just looking for a snack to fill myself up so I ordered the most expensive burger there; some kind of japanese beef. The place is small and cozy, as with many other places in Amsterdam, and the grill was in the center so you can see everything being prepared. They don’t serve alcohol :(I asked to tried their sauces, and OMG I need those saucesssss! Without going into too much details and adjectives, the burger was perfect. I tried to discretely lick my whole plate as to leave no traces of any sauce wasted. Only had the burger so I can’t tell you about the taste of their fries/​sides. Will definitely come back for more if I have the chance.

So ein leckeren Burger habe ich lange nicht mehr gegessen. Reicht auch ohne Käse. Einfach geile selbst gemachte Burger. Preis stimmt auch! Ich komme sicher wieder!

Amazing burger! Order the chipotle mayo for an added kick. This place was super crowded when I was there, which was the only down-​side. Would definitely go again, given the opportunity.

Amazing burgers, I got the cheapest one and it’s delicious, my guy got the angus and it was just fantastic as well. New fav burger spot in the city.

I enjoyed my angus burger regardless of my confusion of what I ordered or what I thought I ordered and what I got. Now granted the group I was with more than somewhat overwhelmed the staff with their orders, all at once. They still managed to do a good job. I sat at the counter and watched them make the burgers. It wasn’t a great show but a show nonetheless. As I previously stated about my confusion on what I ordered, I thought I ordered an angus burger with cheese and bacon. I got a cheeseburger no bacon. I was wanting an egg on that also but as I previously mentioned I was confused with the menu and ordering and all and well, I got what I got. It was a satisfying burger with a wealth of fries. I’ll probably go back and try them again as they’re on a major thoroughfare, easy to find no less, convenient even and maybe I’ll have better luck at getting what I ordered.

I can’t fully enjoy a burger without a nice side of fries. My burger was ok. But the fries were meh. Just seems such an incomplete experience. The lamb burger was flavorful although they were a little heavy handed on their «special» sauce which I found a little too sweet and not so special. The bun was actually quite good. But the fries were such a disappointment that I don’t know if I could go back.
Others seemed to really enjoy their angus burgers so if you’re not a fry freak like me then maybe you’ll have a better time.
