We and our friends discovered new flavours that night. Perhaps this is biasing my review, but I totally loved the food we were served(exquisite satay sauce !!). Plus the deco inside was done with good taste, and the waiter was quite friendly.

TERRIBLESERVICEANDPOORFOOD! We picked up their card from our hotel, and since my family originated from the Dutch East Indies, I was excited to eat Indonesian food. Since they are a «night restaurant» and advertised hours of 4pm-2am, we intentionally arrived about 11:45pm. When we opened the door, the waiter said«We close in 15 minutes, so can you eat in 15 minutes?» I said«We can order in 15 minutes». As soon as we sat down, he hovered over us telling us we need to order now. We didn’t get to look over the menu. Fortunately, I was familiar with Indonesian entrees so I could order quickly. The food was horrible, especially if you’ve eaten authentic Indonesian food. We ate in 10 minutes, and when we got the ticket, I pulled out my MasterCard and he said«We only take cash». I said«Your sign on the door says you accept MasterCard and Visa». He said the machine is broken and we have a sign on the door(I double checked and there was no sign). I only had 30 euros and my ticket was 42 euros. I asked if he would accept US dollars, and he said no. He said I should go to the ATM machine down the street. I had to leave my son at the restaurant and walk down the street(single woman at night by myself to an ATM machine… I was a little scared). He was completely rude. Also heard the only other customers in the restaurant obviously unhappy with the service. Do not waste trying to find this horrible place.

The first time I came here, it was to meet a friend who always eats here with her husband whenever they come through Amsterdam. She’s half Indonesian and lived in Jakarta so I trust that she picked a good place to eat. I have been here a couple times and this is my fave Indonesian place in Amsterdam. I really like the risoles here — it has got to be the best risoles I have eaten. Risoles is a fried breaded croquette/spring roll filled with a creamy sauce and chicken. They do it really well here. I really liked Indonesian Dutch food combinations growing up in Jakarta as a kid and risoles was one of my favorite snacks. I have tried the babi ketjap, satay, and rendang here. it is so authentic! The best thing about Indonesian food in Holland is the fact that I can eat it without getting sick because the spice factor is just right for me. The restaurant is a bit on the small side so be prepared to wait a little bit for a table. Many locals come here to eat and lots of Indonesian students too.

We decided to try this place after it was recommended to us. Both my boyfriend and I loved it! I don’t remember the name of what I got, but I can tell you it is the first thing on the menu and was delicious! The pork was especially good. You have to try Indonesian food if you come to Amsterdam, and I believe this is the best restaurant in this area. Plus the guy working(owner maybe?) was so nice. Five stars!

My friend and I heard we should try Indonesian food while in Amsterdam. Unfortunately we only had time on a Sunday, when all the top-rated Indonesian places were closed… so we decided on Bojo. The place is nice and reminds me of a surfer/southern California-inspired restaurant. We each ordered rice tables(Rijsttafel) — a bunch of side dishes with rice prepared in many ways. The meat dishes were just meh. The chicken was tough and the pork(I think?) had a weird taste. I did like the spicy sauce the chicken was in and the coconut flavors though. The reviews I found made it seem like a pretty good place, but overall I was disappointed. I wish I had been able to eat at Sama Sebo, Tempo Doeloe, or Long Pura — next time!
