Bettina Bakt

Saturday I had the pleasure of meeting the owner of this biological bakery shop. We spoke for quite along time about all the things that I could not have, because I am allergic to so many different things, yes even nuts! So, I was happy to hear that she was also open to baking something that was in the line of my diet. I have passed this biological bakery shop for such a long time that I can’t believe I am just recognizing this lovely shop. Bettina Bakt can bake almost anything based on ones advance request. So, definitely take the time to stop in there and try one of those tasty pastries.

Bettina bakt is a small family run shop specialized in German pastries. Apparently, Germans love nuts. Nuts are incorporated into almost every cake or cookie they sell in this shop. Now personally, I love nuts, so I say go ahead, go nuts with the nuts!
The shop is run by a sweet woman of German decent. Sometimes her daughter helps out in the shop.
Presentation is not their strong point. The pastry looks homemade, but tastes great. My definite favorite is the almond short crust cookie. The mother invented the cookie to celebrate the birth of her daughter and bears the daughter’s name. It’s a little bundle of joy this cookie, it’s amazing in its simplicity yet deliciousness. It’s crumbly, flakey and lightly dusted with powdered sugar and packed with buttery scrumptiousness.
