They are often out of stock on items and carry a limited range of products. Great place for basic shopping just be careful going at busy times as they are often understaffed and expect a wait. They have a ING atm if you need to get cash out as they don’t take credit cards/debit cards

This Albert Heijn has a really tight aisle space but the price is right. It is located in De Pijp close to the tram stations. It was very convenient for me and I came here a number of times during my stay. As a neighborhood grocery store, it has the basic goods for any household as well as a good selection of fresh fruit and breads. The Albert Heijn brand items are usually a bargain and still pretty good products. I got my stash of snacks too :) Come here if you have to have your herring fix and you just can’t wait until morning to go to the local fish market. The store does get crowded after work in the evenings. Don’t forget to bring your own bags!

My nearest Albert Heijn store but not my favorite. It is decent but not big so they miss a lot of my favorite products. The staff is also horrible and uninterested. But I think that is normal in supermarkets nowadays :( I rather go to the big Albert Heijn in the Ferdinand Bolstraat or to the AH in the Rijnstraat.

I am a US visitor on a 3-month stay in Amsterdam. This is the easiest and most convenient place for groceries. Its relatively cheap and it certainly helps that you can find one every few blocks. However, many of the Albert Heijn branded house products are of cheaper quality(such as dishwasher pellets and other detergents) and less effective. Their bakery offers some delicious treats and fresh bread that i eat for breakfast. Visiting the Netherlands i know that if i ever need something I can quickly find this place. Plus this place has the best hours of any grocery stores here. No 24 hour markets like in the US, but this will have to do!
