Big hair, big shoulders, tight jeans, dancing on Donna Summer and Sister Sledge. Are you still with me? Yes? So you know the eighties! Then I bet you remember the ultimate after-​party snack too: a broodje shoarma, pita bread with grilled meat, served with lettuce and lots of garlic sauce. Well, do I have news for you: the shawarma sandwich is back with a vengeance. The new and improved version is grilled by the owner of Abinish, an inviting and cute steakhouse and grillroom in the bustling Haarlemmerstraat. Perfectly spiced pieces of tender grilled lamb, the freshest bread, a good salad and three sauces: green pepper, peppery aioli, tomato salsa. Hello, lamb shawarma 1.0! This darling made me quiet for 28 minutes — mucho meat! Insiders also rave about the salad with grilled tempeh, the patatas bravas and the merguez sandwich. Settle yourself at one of the cosy tables in the back or score a take-​away meal.

So yummy! Really great place with delicious salads and food from the grill. I had grilled tempeh and my boyfriend had the ribeye. Really fresh and flavorful. Overall a really great experience. Great location, price and cozy inside :3

Wow! This is an amazing new restaurant on the very popular Haarlemmeerstraat in the Centrum.
The atmosphere is very cozy, fun and relaxing with a nice wood handmade interior. They specialize in sandwiches, salads and steaks, the triple threat combination ranks number one in my book in Amsterdam.
I started with the Hummus, smoked salmon with horseradish sauce and caprese, mozzerella with pesto. All incredibly fresh, delicious, well presented and served quickly.
The portions were big enough that I had to take home the rest in a doggie bag.
The main course was the ribeye steak with salad/​artichoke hearts, beans… so yummy and filling.
The price was only 16 euros for the steak which would easily cost over 25 in other restaurants.
I appreciated how large and healthy the side salad was as well.
Overall, I recommend this restaurant as the best choice for steaks, salads and sandwiches in Amsterdam.
